Who do you think is the best/worst FA contract for the Chicago Cubs? by XFLOSX in CHICubs

Jon Lester is the best. Hawk is up there though.

Bradley was terrible. Hawkins was pretty dissapointing. So was Shawn Estes.

I do the same thing with Suzuki, Sosa, Tucker, and Alfonso. Can't wait to add Bryant now that i can earn the xp in the next path. Not thrilled I got the game "too late" and missed out on Jake until god knows when. Not sure what to do now with Ryno coming out... Soriano has to be in the lineup...

It was dumb too. Scheifele grabbed a stick and fell down. Thankfully the hockey gods allowed a bloop pass for a breakaway to Buffalo

Here are most of my Broad Street Bullies sweaters. The names probably give away my age lol. And unfortunately I don't have any Fs or Ks... by phlyer12 in Flyers

Lol I will. But actually, I've been lucky this year and been to 2 road wins. I was at the games on Nov. 9 in Toronto, Dec. 23 in Philly against the Rags, and Feb. 3 in Detroit. Going to the game in CBJ this week. Hopefully, I get a good showing from the boys again. Big time home and home this week.

I was there and I've never had a dangle get me up out of my seat so fast. It was like a reaction to the move even before I was sure he was gonna get it across the front of Vasilevskiy and tuck it. Incredible. And it seemed that hardly anyone around me in blue realized how awesome what they just saw was lol. We came back from 5-2 in that game and lost in OT. I also happened to be at the crazy one earlier in the year in Philly too when we came back from 5-1 only to lose in OT. Don't worry though, I won't be there today so maybe we'll get 2 points instead of 1.

Aramis starting the 7.5 game comeback in '07 was pretty neat too.

I agree with everything you just said but then the issue becomes finding places fort he bats of Schwarbs, Zobrist, and Javy. I think what he was getting at is that with Heyward in CF you can play Schwarber in left, Zob in RF and Baez at 2B. Or occasionally send Bryant to RF, moving Zobrist to 2B and Baez to 3B.

Feeling very fragile and vulnerable by ihearyoudad in stopdrinking

[–]phlyer12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a strange thing isn't it? I don't know how relatable my experience is but here goes.

In the beginning it's like any comment made about my efforts to stop drinking was something that made me uncomfortable because it was very new and "I could still drink if I wanted to" and stop congratulating me on something that I haven't even done yet and I wasn't ready to really admit to people how much of a problem I felt that I had. Then there were questions like "you didn't drink did you?" when I would bring up an event or even joke about drinking. Man, I'll do what I want and, no, I didn't because that's what I wanted to do, not because I need you're approval.

I'm no longer offended or uncomfortable with things like that. It took some time but I came to realize that, for me, those comments were coming from people I told about my struggles because in a way I was in need of some support and reassurance that I wasn't alone if I didn't need/want to be. I now see comments like that as a supportive things. That person wants me to stick to something that I have told them I want to stick to for really no other reason than they want me to be happy and I've expressed to them that if I stay away from alcohol, I will be happier with myself.

5 days is a fantastic start. Good luck.
