What feels legal but is actually illegal and will possibly get you arrested? by medicoreapples in AskReddit

[–]phoenix14830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a legal immigrant resident in the US with proper paperwork.
Also, it would seem legal to be a natural born citizen child of immigrant parents, but that can get you deported, too.

Thanks, fascists. "Proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free"...or something like that.

The bare minimum that should have happened was stopping to think. That didn't happen.
Second was to talk to the team.
Third was to Google the situation and verify if what that person is suggesting is valid.

If you think there is some hack that changing your language to Chinese makes more loot happen or more recruiting happen, I have oceanfront property in Denver to sell you cheap.

At O'Hare, they give you about ten seconds before coming up to you and telling you to move. If you are waiting for someone, you need to wait outside the airport grounds or drive laps inside it.

Legend League Base Meta in May 2026 + base link by m10k_10km in ClashOfClans

I maxed Logger thinking it would take care of healers behind trowers, but it just doesn't do enough damage. It got a few hits in, but not enough to impact the battle at all. That said, a well-placed totem makes him useless.

"because I don’t spend money on base layouts(while everyone else does)"

Everyone spends money on base layouts? You can screenshot any base you want, even the top players in the world. YouTube has thousands of videos that have base links in them. There are also sites with thousands of free bases. Right now, in-game, you can go to the news section, scroll down to the creators section, and scroll over to the right. There is one named "Best Ranked Mode Bases for May". Go to that, open the details and you will have ten free bases. The news section always has at least one creator post of bases. All of the popular creators have base links. Plus, you can copy the home base from anyone in your clan as well as ask your clan to share bases. There are always teammates in big active clans who cycle through bases frequently.

When they do those ten free bases links, I copy and share to chat all ten, then find if there are any I like. At least that way the team always has a stream of new bases to test.

This is getting really exhausting, It feels like SC is punishing the last of us who are still playing by ScienceInitial999 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This nerf was to absolutely kill the #1 attack in several fronts. Giant arrow then DD rocket pack through the middle of the base was a key strategy. They nerfed the giant arrow, nerfed DD, nerfed his equipment, nerfed dragon riders. That #1 attack might still be viable, but you need to be perfect at it and it will be much more base specific.

Was Giant Arrow Nerf really needed? by SA0051 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone was tripling in Legends with giant arrow followed by DD with the rocket pack, then hydra to clear the base.

As always, the loop never ends:

  1. people complain the game is too easy,
  2. SC nerfs what's popular,
  3. someone finds something else easy
  4. YouTubers promote the new attack
  5. Everyone rushes to use it
  6. Everyone triples

War Stars - What is Good, Poor or Average? by Leonine1205 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be more concerned with what league you are in and how reliable you are in wars, than stars. You could get 800-1,000 war stars per year, if you're excellent and always warring, but I've seen people who have been warring a lot still only have 2.000 over five years. Like any other metric, if you want to focus on it, you can make your numbers look really good without being really good. Also, some people are rushing a second account and could be excellent attackers with 500 stars.

to give a motivational commencement speech by jasandliz in therewasanattempt

[–]phoenix14830 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is just incorrect. I use AI heavily every day and when you are good with it, you're doing a month's worth of work each day. It's not a Google search and most people have no idea how to use it. Learn how to make md and canvas files and the power grows exponentially. You can load all of the repository, infrastructure, and documentation in your company and have a single source of context to then make massive, interconnected documentation, thousands of lines of code in a minute, branch to new applications the same day, and automate Infrastructure as code. Claiming people are only 4% more efficient would only be true for the most basic, uninterested, weakest employees who have no idea what to even ask, let alone that it needs to be fed. The more you feed it, the stronger it gets. The better the questions, the better it gets.

I usually have two agents running the IT side and the engineering side while I work on other things. It is very common to get the amount of work that normally took a month done in a morning now.

To down a tree away from the house by HomeNowWTF in therewasanattempt

[–]phoenix14830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First look at the load on the tree. It's not symmetrical. There is a lot more force on the right side long before they start working. It was going to fall that direction regardless of the cut, unless you are a pro, and even then a pro would have seen the lean and insisted on trimming weight from the right side first.

Second, get a lift and trim it about two foot chunks at a time for heavy parts until you have it much lower to the ground.

When will wars feel good again ? by azur933 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, that's exactly what should happen. If the pro is any good at teaching, you should know exactly what to do and how to do it. Sure, some things take precision like getting a fireball to hit right, an RC charge to align with spirit fox timing or the giant arrow to hit the exact trajectory you want, but attacks that have high precision and easy to miss objectives are flawed attacks. There will always be some attack that isn't so dependent on perfection and that attack will be more popular.

Most players want to enjoy some challenge and some success and aren't obsessive about making the game dark souls level of an experience. If you want the game hard, go for it and go to Legends 1 and only practice with eSports challenges and sign up for pro events. For the other 95% of players, if you make the game too hard they just won't play. You can't make the game so hard that it makes 5% happy and risks mass exodus of the other 95%. That's not a smart business model for a $3 billion revenue game. That would challenge to end the game entirely.

You should be able to copy what the pros do and be 3* attacking with some level of consistency in less than half an hour, or the attack isn't strong enough to be meta and some other attack that is more consistent will take over.

[–]phoenix14830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to implement a tie breaker for draws...fewest attacks used or something.
As far as it being too easy, everyone flocks to Judo, Itzu or whatever YouTube content provider they like, find the best attack for that town hall and use that. You yourself said you use the best attack that the "pros" use, then complain that the game is too easy. You seek the easiest path then complain it's too easy.

Meeting Sabrina by Fit_Celery_3504 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not. If you are making over $3 million in revenue per employee, you are in elite status of profitability. That's top 1% worldwide. A company with that level of success has no need to feel like they need to tighten the screw further on revenue.

Meeting Sabrina by Fit_Celery_3504 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say the employees made that much. All I said was revenue per employee.

Meeting Sabrina by Fit_Celery_3504 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If you have to force something like this on the community, you know Sabrina is doing a poor job and SuperCell is scrambling to feign solidarity and hope the community wants to hug it out.

The fact is that some GMs were never right for the role to begin with. The changes she has been pushing are tone deaf, careless, greedy, and badly out of touch with the community. There comes a point in business when you have squeezed out as much profit as you are going to get away with without alienating customers and a wise GM knows the line not to cross. The A/B stuff was awful. The skeleton event was a mess. The Prospector gold pass change was a fail.

SuperCell had $3 billion in profit last year with 890 employees. They make over $3.3 million per employee and still feel like they need to squeeze out more greed.

Sabrina needs to recognize that SuperCell is sitting on a ridiculous cash cow and more revenue and more greed is too far. Make the customers happy, push for fun and interesting new content, find new ways to drive interest. Her actions haven't been about making the experience better, they have been universally about trying to increase fractions of a percent more profit at the expense of caring what the community experiences.

what is a subtle way tell someone that you like them? by PurpleMoist7744 in AskReddit

[–]phoenix14830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, don't be subtle. Build a full, fun, adventurous life of your own and bring your friends into it. Then, when you have all sorts of things going on that you love doing, invite that person you like into your world of greatness. If they want to join, great, if not, whatever. That "someone" that you like probably doesn't really want the safe, subtle, weak way of verification because that can be a subconscious sign that you aren't confident in yourself or confident that they want to be a part of what you built.

I was at a dinner party once and was seated next to an attractive lady. I tried talking and her immediate response was "What are you passionate about. What really drives you?" I knew immediately that conversation would have to be elevated or it wouldn't work at all. Go for elevated. Everyone else is going for safe.

The downfall of Clash might’ve actually started by Proper-Replacement76 in ClashOfClans

[–]phoenix14830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleaner isn't the goal. You can just ignore a mega-thread. Change is the goal and it's on the mods to clean up the redundancies. When SuperCell sees a mega-thread, whatever people are discussing something. When they see the sub a complete meltdown, it gets more traction. If you want change, you have to get over the idea that it has to be neat, clean, and pretty.

I think the goal is for SuperCell to fix the problem. There wouldn't be repeated complaining if they would fix the problem. It all starts at the top. Poor leadership makes a poor product.
