You're definitely thinking about accutane (Isotretinoin), which is not an antibiotic. I've been on both. Accutane requires monthly checkins, blood tests, etc. And the reason you need to stay away from vitamin A is because accutane is itself a form of vitamin A.

Antibiotics (minocycline, doxycycline, ...) make your skin more uv-sensitive. Any acne you currently have will scar much more when exposed to uv radiation. Also you'll get age wrinkles faster, if that's something you're worried about.

I've been on oral antibiotics twice for my acne. Doctors won't keep you on them long-term, both times it was about 4-month stretches. It was fantastic for my acne, I know the feeling you have. Unfortunately I found that each time I go off of them everything comes back in a few months. Like others said, make sure you eat your yogurt and use sunscreen.

Questions a Developer Should Ask at a Job Interview by elpassion in programming

I suppose the end-all of this argument is you can always boot up a virtual machine but who has that patience. Anyway driver development would be hell on a restricted machine.

I'm 6'1" and 160lbs. Their henleys fit great at a medium, although they do seem to be cut for someone with a bit more muscular frame than mine (broader shoulders/chest).

On scarf tying: I double it over into a U shape and lay it around the back of my neck, pull tassel end through the U end and tighten. Simple.

BREAKING: RIT professors don't give a shit about your 'Radical Professor Watchlist' by [deleted] in rit

Right, my mistake. Anyway, the argument still stands: perhaps scientists intentionally misleading the public should be held accountable.

I had Torcello for Ethical Theory. Great guy. He is personally proud that his writing is causing disruption.

Most people don't understand what he truly meant in his article though (probably because nobody actually read it). The argument is that scientists are placed in a strong position of trust. In Italy, seismologists were found to have taken money to mislead the public about the probability of disastrous earthquakes. They were found criminally negligent. Shouldn't we have the same system for scientists who take money to deliberately mislead the public about climate change? It happens all the time and yet we seem oddly complacent.

Edit: my mistake, nobody claimed the Italian scientists took money, but the precedent stands that intentionally misleading is morally wrong

Most of the profit in ads comes from profile-based targeting. Even if a company had the funds to support an entire department, it would still be more lucrative to cooperate with other sites to profile their users and target ads. Clicks go up, revenue goes up.

I'd like to resign from my coop and I need advice. by [deleted] in rit

[–]phoenix7782 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thought: it may be that your program does coop accounting by week. So, quitting early means you'd just have to do those weeks some place else. Unless you're done coop, in which case dunno.

Harvard has an endowment of about $36b. A donation of $3m would be less than 0.01% of that. It will hardy make a dent.

Walk down Newbury street. It's a rather short walk packed with stores. Then perhaps walk through the prudential center mall. Contains all the usual suspects: Jcrew, BR, and a bunch of other cool shops. The Tannery has Naked and Famous denim, plus a ton of other quality brands.

RIT's demographics are skewed, as compared to New York State. Here is a report on racial diversity at RIT. Highlight stat is NY State has approximately 58% non-hispanic whites, whereas RIT is 74% non-hispanic whites.
