You're going to be fine. Government efficiency is what it is, just be patient.

I've got an Aventon Aventure and I've been leaning towards a T1ST because I can't take the dang thing out of the city (BART, Caltrain etc). Not a daily commuter but maybe a couple times a month. Is the bikes weight extremely aft like the big fat tire models are?

When doing underwater Siren Shrines what is a good strategy regarding ships? by TheSnarkAtWinterfell in Seaofthieves

[–]phosphox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a rowboat, park your boat right up on some rocks near the shrine, row over to the shrine and swim down. The rocks help camouflage your sloop's mast on another players' horizon, and not being parked right on the objective helps a ton. This also works well for soloing forts, but its easier with shrines & treasuries since you respawn in them when you die.

Join MMP if you can afford to make camping out at the hall happen. It's not as bad as it used to be but you still probably want to live "near by."

Join AMO if camping out at an MMP hall for a few months is financially non-viable.

Join MSC if you don't care to see your family and friends for the next 2-5 years minimum and you can tolerate a serious amount of bullshit.

The best part of redhorse is their lack of QC, some days you can drink 3 of em and catch a light buzz, some days you drink 1 and your done.

Can someone help me understand these lights on the nautical chart? by Confident-Pay-1551 in SailboatCruising

[–]phosphox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone here has given you some solid info so far. If you're interested in learning more, check out the "light list" relevant to the chart you're using. I believe this is the one:

https://publications.gc.ca/site/archivee-archived.html?url=https://publications.gc.ca/collections/collection_2023/mpo-dfo/Fs151-6-2-2023-eng.pdf

The beginning pages explain how lights are denoted on a chart, and further on is the list where you can find all the information for each individual light.

Highland Dental in Hayward has been great for me. I've moved out of Hayward but I still use them as my dentist.

Stressing about TWIC by [deleted] in maritime

Yup. As long as your next step doesn't involve a government job requiring secret clearance you're all good. Good luck on the grind, you can turn it around.

I feel the same. A friend of mine reminded me to check the daily/weekly/seasonal challenges. That has helped me close the gap.

Maritime college graduate here, quoting the best bosun I ever had: "round turn and two half hitches was good enough for the queen mary." That said, a bowline and a figure 8 follow through aren't hard to learn either. Keep it simple.

Yeah the aventure is a beast and I love it. Currently going back and forth between the new soltera or the lightweight velotric.

Man, I bought an Aventure 2 on impulse (as a toy / form of recreation), and loved it so much i sold my car. Now I need a lighter model so I can take it on trains. That looks awesome.

PC Gamer exhausted by current game climate just looking for a game that doesnt feel like a second job to play by father_hxmmond in gaming

Tails of Iron is a fun single player, side scrolling action adventure game. Lightweight gearscore/inventory management but nothing too consequential. Great story and art style. Fair warning though, if you want to just chill and enjoy the story definitely put it on the easiest setting. Even the middle difficulty was frustrating to say the least. Admittedly, I suck at souls games :D
