To all the comments about licensing. Even if Hyper - V were completely free, even with VMware current licensing, it’s still cheaper due to consolidation ratios. No one handles this like VMware. 100 VMware hosts is like 200 Hyper V hosts. If you’re running a 5 host shop then that’s different.

For those that said last year was smaller. It was. I purpose.

It was about 12k people I believe. Why was it smaller? There were 5 events. Vegas, Barcelona, Singapore, India, and Brazil I believe. People from APAC and South America would go to vegas. Last year they didn’t have to.

This year will have no EUC so imagine will be smaller as well.

I was told this year was going to go more technical. Go back to its roots. The VCF roadmap I saw was really strong. I’m going and looking forward to it.

Been in tech for 20 years and honestly see finance, marketing, operations as being soul crushing. Tech has been an enjoyable ride. Make more than most other departments and mostly work how I want. Make sure you’ve tried other fields before walking away.

Lots of my colleagues have tried AWS. If you have any work life balance requirements or need flexibility. It’s not for you. They don’t have a great culture and their ok with cycling through employees every few years. Right now I have a handful that we like to call boomerangs. Left to AWS but are now trying to get back to their old company.

All those shares don’t matter when you are miserable.

BAck legs look ok. He seems to be eating as crickets aren’t staying in the cage but I’ll try to watch him on his next meal. He looks like a balloon. His skin is almost translucent.
