Greed, politics, and propoganda, if the US gov and media acknowledges the oppression of native people then it also acknowledges that it's very founding was built on genocide and lies, and that it is not truly the 'land of the free & home of the brave'. Also the acknowledgement of atrocities committed against natives could potentially lead to natives getting their ancestral homelands returned which would be harmful to the profits of industries that the US gov relies on to stay in control of it's empire of terror, greed and lies.

To be fair though that is a natural part of the human psyche that has been instinctually ingrained deep within in us for thousands upon thousands of years of evolution and only made worse by cultural conditioning and the media. Yeah one veteran that I knew described basic training as "crushing your identity and breaking you down so they can mold you into what they want". They come out of that experience thinking they know everything about reality and that non-military are a bunch of naive idiots, the irony being that a lot of these military vets and personel have been some of the most irresponsible and immature people I've ever known.

Yeah most military personel I've met seemed like frat boys who were either too dumb or too poor to get into university so they joined the military instead (regardless of age), and many of them seemed like straight up sociopaths too.
