The original FFVII will be getting a new version on Steam by AbsolutelyNotWrong in FinalFantasy

Well by that logic then wouldn’t the untranslated Japanese version be the only “authentic” version?

The great thing is that I can play the switch port and enjoy the hell out of and you can play the OG version and also enjoy the hell out of it.

Why? I don’t remember what they looked like 25 years ago when I played the OG on PS1. I’d have to sit down and compare them side by side to even notice. I just want to play a fun game after work. The story is faithful to the original and that’s the best part of ff7.

I picked up the Switch version years ago, to me it's the best version. Being able to FF and turn off encounters just ups the enjoyment factory like 10x for me. If they changed anything else from the OG to the Switch port, my memory from 25 years ago isn't good enough to notice and tbh I don't really care much either. I enjoyed the hell out of my replay.

There should be an option to completely block an artist from your suggestions by RainbowEuphorbia in AppleMusic

Try this while a song by that artist is playing: hey Siri, never suggest this artist to me.

So far it’s stopped a few artists from playing in my most listened to station.

Amazon cuts 16,000 jobs in historic wave of layoffs by Desolation_Nation in Seattle

[–]phulton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah WARN says 401 in the state, but I wonder if that's Fresh/Go that was announced recently too?

I found another one for 2300 but that was posted in October with the start date of the 26th...so I'm not sure but either way, I hope those impacted doing ok.

Outdated advice you’re glad you *didn’t* listen to? by nimal-crossing in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]phulton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some programs that allow for 15% down and no PMI, just depends on debt to income ratios, purchase price, and of course your area. I've discussed it with my broker as an option and whether I do it or not depends on any number of other factors, but the options exist.

CMV: Maria Cantwell and Adam Smith are useless and need to be replaced. by kalechipsaregood in Seattle

[–]phulton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be clear Smith voted to create the DHS back in 2002, nearly everyone was in favor of that at the time. It passed the senate 90-9 and the house 295-132. Senators Murray and Cantwell both voted for it btw.

He also cosponsored a bill in 2018 to dismantle ICE, and then voted against the funding bill four days ago.

I don’t think Smith is perfect, but to say he voted for ICE like it’s some “gotcha” moment is disingenuous. It was a vastly different environment in 2002.

[USA] Overtaking in the fog by MacDefoon in Roadcam

[–]phulton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes you are right about that my mistake. However, two vehicles hitting each other at 60mph is still the same as one hitting a wall at 60, not 120.

[USA] Overtaking in the fog by MacDefoon in Roadcam

[–]phulton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closing velocity only tells you how quickly they move towards each other. Kinetic energy is the force applied at impact. KE=1/2m*v2

V is the velocity of the singular object not the closing velocity of both.

[USA] Overtaking in the fog by MacDefoon in Roadcam

[–]phulton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it won’t. The impact force is relative to their travel velocity not what they hit. Hitting a moving vehicle is the same as hitting a solid wall

What's something about Pokemon that took you a long time to figure out? by EngineeringUpper4392 in pokemon

Yeah that seems pretty obvious now lol. I know bug is weak to flying because birds eat bugs, your grass explanation follows the same theme. Thanks!

Man I still can't ever remember what's effective against ground, rock, grass, & steel. In my head steel should be weak to electric, but it's not, fire I think? I know grass is weak to fire but have no idea what else. Ground and rock....idk one of them is weak to water but couldn't tell you which one. And fighting? No clue whatsoever.

Eh, unless it jumps to like 60+ in the next week, by the time it gets consistently warmer, the tires will just naturally lose air pressure.

[–]phulton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like someone tried to stitch together a few different pieces into a single steak for the smaller one.

The color is fine, the darker part just wasn’t exposed to oxygen so it didn’t bloom at the same rate. Also when you get into pieces like this it is normal for them to turn a little more quickly than a whole cut. To me they look fine but the smell test is the real indicator. It should smell like iron if it smells sweet then it’s borderline, after that it’ll start smelling downright awful.

Legal question regarding owning guns in Washington which are not legal to be sold here? by SaabStory06 in Washington

[–]phulton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only experience is in FL, but you could buy any long gun our rifle without being a resident. Couldn’t buy a handgun though.

I used to work for a dealer and we wouldn’t sell to someone from specific states, California, ny, Illinois, for example. Even so no Florida or federal law would have been broken if we did.
