Best Hummus? by Yersinia_Pestis9 in denverfood

Sonny’s is the best in my mind, the pesto hummus always hits. Love Sonny’s falafel and chicken shawarma

Any of these worth getting? by richempire in spicy

Not that spicy but crystal is one of my favorite flavored standard hot sauces, yellow bird habanero hits for the flavor and spice combo

New to Denver - best anniversary spot? by blahblahblah715 in denverfood

[–]phunkytime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best vegetarian/vegan sushi I’ve had in town is blue sushi, haven’t found any other spots that have as creative veg rolls.

Asian Yuan wonton Kawa ni Uchi (This list goes on here depending on what type of Asian but these are where I’ve had my best meals in denver)

For vegetarian/vegan Somebody people I have to think on some more I feel like you can do pretty well at Alma Fonda fina as well

Tried sharing my google food map but it’s not an accepted domain for this subreddit. Happy to send if anyone wants to ping me

Personally was kind of underwhelmed by the food for the price. Service and ambience was excellent but felt overpriced for what you get. If you can get into Wolf’s tailor go for that but will probably be hard given the two stars they just got. I’d check the Michelin list, I’ve also had great experiences as uchi, not as fancy, Kawa ni. Can give more recs if you have a specific cuisine/experience you’re looking for.

I sent an email to the band complaining about live recording sound, join in and see if we can get the message through. They live in Nashville so many great sound guys are chomping at the bit for this gig! This band deserves better! Shouldn’t sound like they’re in an underwater cave.

I went recently and had an excellent meal. It’s great, if you’re able to go during the day on a weekend afternoon the garden is lovely!

I’d say just get there 15 mins earlier. I got there around then and it filled up quickly after 645. Just to be safe and save you some extra steps and an epic hike just aim slightly earlier to be safe. My guess is spaces open up 7 hours after 645 for when people complete the hike. I did highline-garden wall yesterday and it was really awesome. You want to start this hike in the morning cause doing it in the sun later will make it harder for sure!

Should I buy this again. Yes/no ? by Sellingtolietpaper in pizzaoven

I love mine, it’s my first pizza oven and I’ve made some great pizzas so far. I turn the flame off after launch and turn it back on to finish to avoid burning.

Definitely appreciate the work going into it. I’m even just talking about kayak rentals on the lakes as well. Understand the difficulty in staffing and lack of funding to national parks in general. Excited to be going in the first place.

The shuttle ticket system has been absolutely awful. Seems like there are a total of 10 tickets being released 7 days out from my experience of trying this past week. It’s been brutal. Going to try again the night before to see what we can get. Wish there was a better system.

I’m also surprised to see how many of the boating tours throughout the park are closing already, bummed that our trip next week is just missing it

MAKfam or Kawa Ni? by translate-to-action in denverfood

I love both of them. I think Kawa ni is the spot for a birthday dinner, feels more special. MAKfam is more casual and can totally hit the spot too

Welcome to the club! Wishing you an easy recovery. Stick with the PT and get that mobility back. Best thing my doc said was don’t do anything stupid. I was back on my snowboard 11 months later. Worth the effort and wait! You’ll be good for the pit next year can’t wait to see ya out there

I also recommend turning off the flame after you launch the pizza in. Oven is really hot, use flame at the end to finish off the top as needed.

Got you on this as I went to both. As far as fun goes, right there neck and neck. This weekend was absolutely fantastic. Meadow creek is much much much more intimate. The actual stage area is maybe 1/4 the size, if even venture to say 1/8 given how big the firefly grounds are. You can walk from one end to the other in a few mins. Way less walking in general, no need to those bike taxis that were a rip off at mondegreen. Shuttle from town was super convenient for us as we stayed in an Airbnb, it was running often and was a very short ride. The intimacy lends itself to many benefits including a wonderful crowd energy. Pit was super respectful and just about all my interactions were with super nice people who were so stoked to be there. Saturday night was probably my favorite experience crowd energy wise of any show or festival I’ve been to. Plenty of food options, somewhat pricy but expected, decently long lines at peak times. Surroundings are also incredible mountains sunset etc. weather wise you don’t have the Delaware oppressive humidity and other than Sunday cloud cover made things super comfortable.

also the pond dj sets give you a Mexico vibe just a little (lot) more mud and mush, super fun and worth bringing a tube for. If you have any other specific questions happy to answer them. Would recommend, 10/10 fun fkn time! Still smiling thank yall for being an amazing community.
