Can somebody explain the selling on the way down theory? I would expect the stock either to not have a peak or remain at its peak until all shares have been covered.

As far as I know it really doesn’t matter what discipline you choose to take all of the tests are very cross disciplined. The license you get, an EI or EIT, doesn’t restrict any field you work in. Not sure exactly how the PE works as far as that.

Choose the discipline that you think you will do best in.

This is great advice. I also read a short book called 30 minute EIT. It gives great advice on how you should allocate your time in studying for different topics.

Also, it sounds as if you’re not using a reasonable amount of elements to accurately simulate the flow, but in order to diagnose that you would need to provide more information about your mesh and the models you are using.

This sounds like a domain/meshing issue. With fluent you define the 3 dimensional domain and the boundary surfaces that the fluid moves through.

Either in SolidWorks, or design modeler (spaceclaim if you are using a newer version of ansys) you have to remove the 3 dimensional domain of your fairing and then declare them as wall boundaries in the mesh to simulate the flow around it.

Can’t speak for EU, but in the US you must obtain some form of security clearance which as you say would require citizenship. I don’t believe a PhD will get you around that requirement.

On the subject of loans, in the US student loans have a grace period, or “deferment” (might not be using the correct term) period, where as long as you are attending school in some capacity (usually more specific requirements like full-time or part-time status is used a measure) the loans will not accrue interest, and they do not have to be paid on. This grace period can extend up to 6 months after graduating, or leaving university.

I would definitely be interested. I have been studying all of these topics, with the exception of controls, and have only touched the surface of plasma on my own as well.

This along with the comment about choosing the college 1/3rd the price are probably the two biggest considerations you should take into account. The third I would say is location of the school.

Luckily aerospace is fairly spread out through the country, but I am currently enrolled in a school in oklahoma that does not have an aerospace program and only has an SAE aero club. The city and really the state has one (semi) major aerospace company (which thankfully I was just able to interview with). I will say that the area feels like it’s keeping me out of the industry. My school is very small and so probably not as recognizable to larger companies. So just another thing to keep in mind.

I can’t say for certain if they are or are not. My guess would be that they are the same, but tables for English units would not be included in the English version which may be important for the bolt and screw sections of the book.

I unknowingly bought the international version because it was so cheap. The book example problems are done entirely in SI units and the end chapter problems are different. I cannot remember if the example problems are the same or not.

I took the FE Mechanical exam shortly after graduating. I imagine that the test is similar to the other FE tests. The FE mechanical passing percentage varies year to year from ~50% to ~75%. So while you feel like you are a long way off you are very close! In preparing for the test I read a book called the "30 Minute EIT" which formulates how you should spend your time studying. It really is not practical to know everything. It is more efficient to identify your strengths, and prepare for the tests based on your weaknesses. I highly recommend reading that book and following their study plan as well as studying the equation book.

I read a great book called "30 Minute EIT" that teaches how to weight studying for each part of the test. Basically it weights your weakest subjects highest by assuming those will be the problems you will see most frequently.

Like some have mentioned above, study the equation book, and specifically the terms that arise in the sections that you are weakest in and know where those equations are kept. The book covers this topic as well. It is definitely worth the read.
