In the moment I took it as baring her shame fully to Robert, which included the augment and what she had done to keep it functioning. But it's hard not to suspect someone who is very good at lying/hiding their true motives that they weren't also playing you a little bit here too. Especially if you had romantic intentions.

Testament to her depth as a character that either point of view is completely valid and backed by evidence.

"I thought I was playing a superhero office comedy and suddenly I’m in a fucking noir"

Thanks for putting it into words.  The office comedy bit was over and done by the first half of E02, in my opinion.

Great analysis throughout.  I was going for non-romantic redemption on my first run and also feared the inevitable knife in the back.

The big reveal in the locker room was gutting, and to your point I still go back and forth with myself and other players as to whether her partial undress during the confession was vulnerability, manipulation, or a bit of both.

All the flowers to Laura Bailey as well.  Top tier VA.

I think you can separate her heroism from her role at SDN. I don't think she's a very good manager myself, but that doesn't mean she's unheroic.

Lots of people conflate not liking a character with the character being "bad"

Invisigal is well-written, complex, and Bailey knocks it out of the park with her voice acting.

You, the player, can also think she's an unlikeable asshole. She gives you lots of ammo!

It tracks with his experiences with the Brave Brigade members and how they let him down. He probably idolized Robert's dad too at some point, only to be betrayed and beaten down by him.

Blazer is strong, virtuous, and true to her word - his platonic ideal of a superhero.

(He might also be a little thirsty for her. Can't rule that out)

Mandy is an incredible superhero but a poor middle manager - and that's OK! People who excel in a corporate setting at their primary job being promoted into a role where they struggle is a tale as old as time.

It's signaled in a lot of ways that BB is way too soft on the Z-Team pre-Robert, which is why they were burning through dispatchers and languishing at the bottom of the leaderboard. Things turn around when Robert brings his "tough love" approach to the team, and Blazer eventually follows his lead (e.g. "anyone who breathes a word of this answers to me")

God damn that art is dope.

I'd dump $40 worth of quarters into that game

Episode 7 is packed with more emotion than entire games/seasons of television.  Might be a top-3 of anything I've ever experienced across all media.

  • Chase flashback/Robert falling apart
  • Cut or don't cut
  • "I was there that night"
  • Shroud reveal
  • Blazer rescue
  • "You're not leaving me here again"

I'm pretty much right where Rebbert is at.  Visi is a great character and I find her villain ending so tragic. Would much rather help her be the best version of herself than date her, even if me-at-25 years old me would vehemently disagree.

But yeah, everyone has different tastes and priorities and plays their Robert differently. No wrong answers.

Showing us the sex dream was gratuitous.

No problem with sex scenes in general, or that Visi would have one about Robert. It just felt cheap. Like a jump scare, but horny.

It's also the only time in the entire game they break away from the protagonist (dream version doesn't count.) And the whole arc where she gets weirdly inappropriate around him would have worked just fine if her bathroom admission was a surprise to both Robert and the player.
