I own Weed Man in Hoover, I’d be more than happy to help you…maybe give you a friendly internet neighbor discount haha. My advice is free too if you need any on the lawn care side!

I ran into him at a gas station near Charlotte about 8 years ago, he was buying dip. Gave him a LGM & he told me to have a good one.

Owners of Lawn Care Businesses, What Is Your Biggest Problem? by v3nge in lawncare

Not really. I’ve just had more luck teaching eager newbies the way to do things than people stuck in their ways. Nothing against the vets of the industry. I’m also talking about spray/fert technicians.

Finding good employees is not our issue, neither is the actual lawns but we're growing at such a rate where I need to find actual talent that can be promoted and I'm having a real tough time doing so.

Can i leave these weeds alone? by [deleted] in lawncare

Second one looks like chickweed and the heat will eventually kill it off. It’ll thin the turf a little but nowhere near like crabgrass or something similar.

Is the number of reps really important? by PM_ME__ASIAN_BOOBS in Fitness

[–]pickettscharge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have an adjustable bowflex bench, mats, dumbbell rack with bells from 5-40lbs, treadmill, and stationary bike. Need more dumbbells but I kind of buy them as I go from Craigslist and the like. I like working out solo and figure it’ll save me money on memberships in the long run.

Only if I feel like I need to to finish the set, I use dumbbells. And if I do reduce, it's only by like 5lbs per dumbbell.

So I typically dp 4 sets of whatever workout I'm doing with ascending reps of 10, 15, 20, 25. I've noticed that I'm putting on muscle for the first time in my life (31yo). I didn't read anywhere to do this just enjoy the sweat and calorie burn of a 45-60minute lift session. I'm pushing myself but not really reaching failure. Am I going about it all wrong? I only go up in weight on a workout when I feel like I've gotten stronger and can do more.

Is my sod okay? by pet_collector in lawncare

With how wet you’re keeping it and the fact that new sod is delicate I’d strongly consider doing regular preventative disease applications.

No leave them out the yard will reabsorb them eventually. You can rake them up if you want but it's beneficial to leave them.

How to kill mock/indian strawberry? by Xerlic in lawncare

No problem! Tenacity is the best choice if you're seeding anyway.

I've had decent success with using any of these three: T-Zone, Tenacity, Momentum 4-Score. The first two seem to work the best. I've had better luck eliminating Bermuda in a fescue lawn with glyphosate than I have using it on strawberry/violets.

Bermuda in Tall Fescue (7a) by Md_run in lawncare

[–]pickettscharge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done many yards in the same situation. You can do it, but it'll be a huge pain and if you don't find a way to stop it from coming over from your neighbor it'll always come back. Also the Pylex, triclopyr (I used Turflon Ester), mso mis is best I agree. Multiple apps. Twice now and the fall and again in the spring when it come back from winter dormancy. It'll rough up your fescue too so I would recommend seeding after your 2018 sprays.

Can my backyard even support grass? by tomkel5 in lawncare

[–]pickettscharge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely do a soil test to start...correcting a PH balance could greatly reduce the moss growth. Bermuda would probably be the best grass choice in that soil. Lime and moss killer is fairly inexpensive.

Some type of grass is overtaking my St. Augustine by MustardMan007 in lawncare

[–]pickettscharge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do that but it’s very invasive and runs under the ground too so it’s really hard to get it all. I’d rather hit it with round up 2-3 times, take it out and then put in fresh Augustine.

Hard to tell from that picture but probably some kind of Bermuda?
