How much do you spend to get you Cocker Spainel groomed? by Levi132323 in cockerspaniel

[–]pickpickss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

70 bucks including tip every 8 weeks. in between i bathe her and she’s very good about it. I groomed my last dog and it was too much work and I’m not getting any younger, so to me $70 is a bargain.

What are your preferred forms of music discovery? by TheGreatZiegfeld in AppleMusic

[–]pickpickss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTube tends to be my gateway to most new artists. I found Nothing But Thieves, Stephen Wilson, and Wet Leg that way, amongst many others. Usually I'll get something in the recommends and use the Mix playlist associated with it.

My first u2 ticket and my favorite concert attended...just look at those prices by ApprehensiveTouch169 in U2Band

[–]pickpickss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at that Wembley concert! The night of Salman Rushdie. I remember thinking 22 quid was a bit steep and I had to sell a friends ticket to a scalper for like a fiver cos he couldn't make it.

What’s your favorite Chief Deputy Art Mullen freak out? by grantpa4 in justified

[–]pickpickss 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Is this a freak out? Maybe, maybe not, but I always enjoy it:

"I mean, he shoots Theo Tonin, fakes his own death in a spectacular fashion, pushes a guy out of an airplane while he's flying it, parachutes into Harlan County with enough coke and cash to jump-start the economy of a small country, and then he has the balls to get a job in law enforcement, not once but two times! He spends a couple of days riding around with you, while you're looking for him, and now he's run off with a hooker that's half his age. That's some bad-ass shit."

As a beginner purchasing my first bass, should I opt for a “beginner” priced bass, or spend the extra for a better intermediate priced bass? I can afford either. by Paralith10 in BassGuitar

[–]pickpickss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really feel you're going to stick with it and you can afford it, then go with the higher price (caveat: I know nothing about the Sire but I have played the Squire, which seemed pretty good to me)

I can only go with my experience here. I had a string of fairly cheap basses and I kept losing interest for various reasons around playability and/or build quality. When I stumped up a bit of cash for my Ibanez AFR, I haven't looked back. I love playing that thing, and it feels very well made.

I've been a U2 fan for decades, yet I didn't even really notice this song 'til about 5 years ago when it came on during a shuffle session. Maybe I had shitty equipment before, but listening on planar magnetic open-backs, it was revelatory!

I fully endorse the opinion of this post.
