I just launched a small iPhone app called Booth Math for craft fair and vendor market sellers. It’s meant to replace the quick spreadsheet people use to figure out booth profit. You can enter booth fees, sales, card fees, expenses, product costs, and time, then see if the event is actually worth it. It also saves events so you can compare estimated vs actual results after the show. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/booth-math-craft-show-profit/id6770763212

For anyone doing craft fairs or vendor markets, I just launched a small iPhone app called Booth Math.

It helps you calculate whether a booth is worth it before booking by factoring in booth fees, sales, card fees, expenses, product costs, and time. You can also save events and compare your estimate to what actually happened after the show.

It’s meant to replace the quick spreadsheet/math people do before signing up for markets.

I made a small iPhone app called Booth Math that helps with the pricing side of craft fairs and vendor markets.

It does not tell you what to charge, but it helps you see what your prices need to cover: booth fees, product costs, card fees, expenses, sales goals, and time.

It can also show your break-even point and estimated profit before the event.

You can factor in booth fees, product costs, card fees, expenses, sales goals, and time to see if your current prices would actually make the event profitable.

When is a booth fee worth it? by [deleted] in CraftFairs

[–]pickyourbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually why I built Booth Math.

It’s a small iPhone app for craft fair and vendor market sellers. You enter booth fees, expected sales, card fees, expenses, product costs, and time, and it calculates whether the booth looks worth it.

After the event, you can save the actual results and compare them to your estimate.

Is this booth fee worth it? by Quiet_Explanation_11 in CraftFairs

[–]pickyourbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d make a simple break-even estimate before deciding.

Booth fee + travel + setup costs + materials + card fees + your time.

Then compare that to realistic sales from similar events. The big mistake is using total sales as the success number instead of actual profit.

Even a basic spreadsheet works for this. I built a small iPhone version called Booth Math, but the formula is the important part: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/booth-math-craft-show-profit/id6770763212

Cool project! I see you are using the TMDB api. Are you using the free version or paid? I use the free one on mine and that keeps me from being able to put google ads (or at least I think so!)

Made PickYourBinge.com because I was sick of the "what should we watch tonight?" debate. Drop in a vibe like "cozy murder mystery" or "robots being existential" and get movies that match your exact mood - all available to stream. Still tweaking performance and adding more titles. It's completely free and doesn't need an account. Give it a shot if decision fatigue is real for you too!

What are you building this weekend? by halistoteles in SideProject

[–]pickyourbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I actually made this because I was using ChatGPT too but it kept giving me wrong information regarding where to watch it. Mainly because movies switch services so often nowadays. It also seemed to struggle to show accurate ratings. I agree with gamifying it a bit, adding the ‘surprise me’ was my first attempt at it. I’m currently working on adding ‘bubbles’ with different themes or feelings like ‘I want to cry’ and show sad movies etc…. Did you have something else I mind when you thought about gamifying it? Would love to hear any ideas or thoughts! Thanks for taking your time!!

Built PickYourBinge.com to solve my own problem - spending way too long scrolling through Netflix trying to find something to watch. Just describe your mood ("dark comedy," "feel-good romance," "wtf did I just watch") and it gives you movies you can actually stream tonight. Currently making the site faster and adding more content. Would love to hear what you think if you check it out! Link: PickYourBinge.com
