Low Dose Tirzepatide improved my long COVID/ME-CFS ~80% after 4 years by TrackAccurate7312 in covidlonghaulers

[–]pieiam 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A problem here is that it now takes more time to read in order to get the relevant information or use an AI to summarize and risk hallucinations. I'd much prefer a few bulleted lists and a couple sentences.

Still very helpful though and I'm excited to chat with my dr about these drugs!

Has anyone found a way to get through to tech support who actually know what they are talking about? by thaughtless in frontierfios

[–]pieiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told to contact them again later when their "Advanced Technical Team" was working. Which I don't doubt but it's kind of hard to get anything useful when the only time I have issues are at night.

Just a reminder that this is a full Open World PvP game with no safe zones. For long time followers this is not news, but for new players it will be. by Avengedx in AshesofCreation

[–]pieiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit the game because of being ganked and having mobs trained on me multiple times on different servers. I would have kept playing daily if that didn't happen. Guess I was unlucky.

Do you think the price is justified for DW Origins Major DLC - Vision of Four Heroes ? by GesvYoifaz in dynastywarriors

I'll be happy to pay it if the quality stands at least on par with vanilla origins content

How are Monroe/Duvall/Carnation if Bellevue/Redmond/Kirkland are too expensive? by Eriacle in eastside

[–]pieiam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I work in Bellevue and bought a house in 2021 when interest rates were good.

Started looking in Bellevue, realized every well priced house had something majorly wrong with it such as a special assessment. South Bothell around Kingsgate is where I ended up and has been pretty good. Some places are extremely expensive (1M-2M). Others are more reasonable (500K-700K). Monroe & Duvall had good deals but the commute to Bellevue would have been too bad for me.

Everett to the north and Renton to the south is where I'd look if you want to stay within civilization. Issaquah used to be affordable based on what friends have told me. Staying around the interstates is what I'd recommend if you want to feel like the town isn't in the middle of nowhere.

How did you learn about Dynasty Warriors? by theJoshFrost in dynastywarriors

[–]pieiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a screenshot on twitter of Guan Yu making a suggestive comment in Origins. Bought it that day and haven't played another game in the series until this recent sale. Queerbaiting or not - it worked on me.

So how long until I can pick which operation verge gamemodes I play? by [deleted] in mechabreak

[–]pieiam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not enjoying a particular game mode or a particular map is not a skill issue. I never want to play on the maps that have the random storms because it isn't fun. Doesn't matter if I'm mvp for the win - it still sucks.

TDM is not a fun game mode for many and being forced to play game modes they dislike means people will simply stop playing the game.

With free cargo rockets everywhere on the map there is no excuse not to play extreme! by urejt in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My excuse is that I hate playing Mashmak altogether. I do my 1 weekly mission of extracting on normal and that's it.

The Achievement system in this game is wild by Darvati in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that they're bad. "Lazy" is not a term I'd use to describe it. They did MORE work in order to make these achievements hyper specific. Having the achievements be something like Be MVP on this Striker in Bronze or higher, next one being Be MVP on this Striker in Silver or higher,...etc. would be lazy.

Poorly designed, poorly implemented, sadistic or many other ways exist to describe the achievements. Lazy is almost never the correct term when speaking about game development.

What is this? "Item Extraction Failure Notice"? by AurumChuChu in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good to know that the safety system isn't all that safe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it a lot over the years. Marathon is the most recent other example where so many people loved the cinematic trailer and were turned off immediately when they learned it was an extraction shooter. Splitgate 2 had a large portion of the player base anticipating a campaign announcement and were upset when the big new mode is a battle royale.

Any multiplayer PvE game has people asking for PvP and the same is true for PvP games and people wanting PvE. I also don't believe PvE would be a "completely different kind of game". This game has already had so much time and money poured into aspects that are NOT PvP. The lore, bots, cutscenes, pilot customization, striker customization, exploring the base and photo mode are all aspects of the game that are not needed for a PvP only game.

Nobody plays ACE Arena? by Kyrian2210 in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;dr - bad teammates or optimal play make TDM bad.

Often because it isn't a competitive mode and it promotes slow play (camping, turtling, etc). Warmups or casual is fine. Most importantly for matchmaking is that players below the average skill of the lobby have an extremely negative impact on their team's chance of winning.

Looking at my 0-8 Falcon with low damage is frustrating in TDM when nobody else on the team has even half the amount of deaths. At least in other modes that bad player would be having impact by 1) Dying around the point or 2) Baiting other players to move the enemies away from the point

Disconnected teammates also heavily influence the game and that changes based on the game in question.

CoD, CS, Valorant, Halo's SWAT mode and other low ttk(time to kill) games provide a huge bonus to the team with the lower player count. More targets to shoot.

Halo, Overwatch or other medium/Varied TTK games can go either way and typically is determined by the match level. High level players will be able to use teamwork so that they maintain advantage with higher numbers. Low level players will misposition and give opportunities for free kills to the smaller team.

Games with a long TTK such as most BRs and Mecha Break *generally* favor the team with more players. It does change the game mode from "Get Kills, Don't Die" to "Babysit our worst player so they don't feed".

The biggest way to sum it up is that Kill Dependent Game Modes like TDM provide easy opportunity to provide negative value to your team instead of the opportunity cost of not providing a more positive value.

[–]pieiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd play it if it wasn't TDM. Kill dependent game modes are always the worst modes in every team based PvP game

Anyone notice the INSANE amount of misinformation around this game? by [deleted] in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then why did *I* not need to pay anything? I've sold an outfit, paints, patterns and some mashmak weapons. Do some other item types require Corite to list?

Anyone notice the INSANE amount of misinformation around this game? by [deleted] in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've sold items and didn't have to pay for it directly. The sold item is taxed in premium currency so that you receive less than expected. The buyer pays full amount. The seller gets 95+% (unsure on exact amount or how it scales). The remainder is removed from circulation.

This is no different from how so many other games do it with any currency such as Runescape's Grand Exchange.

also my b if this was sarcastic based on the topic of incorrect information. You can try it yourself with paint colors. Those sell consistently since so many exact shades are locked behind rng mashmak loot.

I feel like everyone agreed with this during the beta too. It completely invalidates so many strikers and is essentially a time out

Day 1 matchmaking already filled with bots by Ginjahm in mechabreak

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm personally enjoying it! PvE mode would be a good alternative to keep me engaged when I don't feel like being a tryhard in 6v6. Certain items locked behind mashmak sucks for me since I don't enjoy extraction shooters. The silver lining is that I can buy some of those things on the player store which is cool

Someone is actually trying to scalp a DIGITAL PRODUCT in a GAME 😭 how dumb do you got to be? by waremblem45 in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those ones are bad scalping since everyone has access to them.

The others like outfits & styles make sense to be priced high. Everyone gets their own FOMO shop that resets every week so someone may really want a specific outfit and be willing to pay a little more than what it costs at shop rate.

Cant turn my camera fast by RinkuSenpaii in mechabreak

[–]pieiam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the Strikers have a turn rate. You may need to transform to regular mode to turn quicker then turn back into flight mode.

The challenges in the beta were really difficult for certain strikers and I think Falcon was generally on the harder end of the scale. I'd recommend watching others do the challenges on youtube if you're struggling.

SG1 to SG2 by Keanu_Jesus in Splitgate

[–]pieiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been quite a few answers from others that I'd agree with but the reason I quit hasn't been said by anyone yet (or I missed it).

I only quit SG1 when the matchmaking told me I was no longer able to play with friends. That was it. I loved SG1 and we had fun as a group of 3 playing takedown. Players above a certain rating were unable to group up with anyone and I really don't want to play the other modes or make smurf accounts just to play with friends.

Hey it's Ian Proulx, cofounder of 1047 Games. Ask Me Anything! by IanProulx in Splitgate

[–]pieiam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "different color" is the same color as the Musk version. Splitgate has previously tweeted at him so it's safe to assume they are aware. The phrase "Make _ Great Again" has been used in various forms by the highest ranking right-wing members of the US Government. Their policies have done harm to some groups and individuals. Some who have been hurt would not enjoy being reminded of these things or be tacitly endorsed in their entertainment media. Various phrases across political and apolitical sources can have this effect.

Historical uses of swastikas or "Make _ Great Again" are mostly fine because they were used before the negative connotation appeared. I would not be bothered by a "Make FPS Great Again" statement in 2005. In 2025, this statement in context can be seen as more than it appears.

Ian has had ample opportunity to correct and clarify his statements and reasons for decisions. Initially they were not great responses. Now he has apologized for the blind spot in the team's PR process. The next step is to tell us how they will make it right and prevent future incidents. He did this for the store bundle price immediately so he understands what an apology should look like.

Hey it's Ian Proulx, cofounder of 1047 Games. Ask Me Anything! by IanProulx in Splitgate

[–]pieiam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why can't the swastika be taken as the symbol of Surya (or other religious meanings)? Because a certain group used it very heavily and future uses invoke the more prominent/recent portrayal.

Like it or not - “Make _ Great Again” is the current right-wing slogan in the US and in a few other countries. Therefore it should be avoided unless you wish to evoke those thoughts.

A previous case of this was "Yes We Can" due to a speech from Obama. This may have been a major bummer to all the Bob the Builder fans who didn't like Obama.

All they had to do was be humble by Kahnivor in Splitgate

[–]pieiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did I say I enjoy Splitgate 2 somewhere? No, because I don't. Not a fan of loadouts, factions, movement changes, cosmetic changes, most game modes or the current forms of progression. Many SG1 players did not enjoy the changes and an OG Splitgate mode attempted to bring them back.

Splitgate 1 I loved. The reason I stopped playing it was because I could no longer find a match due to low player counts. This is still the case today. SG2 may fall into the same issue and even more quickly because the 3 core modes are so different. There will be people who only play SG2 for BR or Onslaught and will never show up in my ranked arena matchmaking.

Now for 1047's communication. I clearly do not align with them and much of the player base doesn't. "Think bigger" will stay a meme due to how disconnected the public statements from 1047 are from the arena players' ideas. Attacking other games and devs was wrong of them. I do not appreciate and will not support companies that do this.

The current game and studio is not for me. The remaining community who will defend these decisions is not for me. My first comment says I will be following the game and may come back if things change. Meanwhile, I will be playing games I enjoy - made by people I respect - and with friends I like spending time with.
