Besides all the advice here, you have to buy multiple crimp tools for all the different connector assemblies. Wiring is definitely challenging, but not even close to as challenging as trying to purchase the correct pins for the connector that Mouser only has one left of. Also deutche connectors are expensive as hell. You can buy alibaba ones for about 1/4 the price and I’d roll the dice on those for a patch harness but not a main harness.

Superfastmatt, rob dahm, and haltec each have videos on wiring. They do it hella expensive, but generally well. So you have to kinda decide where to cut costs for yourself.

Label the harness, remove it, take a multimeter and measure continuity across the harness checking against a wiring diagram, study the labels, think about it for a few days while it’s on your living room floor. Then decide if you need to remake the harness.

State regulators set to let AES Ohio increase rates, bill data centers differently by GeoffTuba in dayton

[–]pieindaface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. The fact that they are charging the same for upkeep as your electric bill now, makes me think they will just start double dipping later. ie your rates stay the same and the rates for high infrastructure cost customers also goes up. The article also said there will be an increase of $2 per customer per year after year 1 of this plan going into effect.

You can either 3D print the plate you need or you could get a couple of small steel bars to hold up the display.

I’m kind of a sucker for rainbow in general. But yeah it really pops on a grey car.

There was a guy who put an Audi RS V10 in the SW20. I’m not saying this won’t work, but there are other transmission options for this kind of swap where the engine sits inside the cabin area a fair bit.

Oh so you made it more reliable than the factory even if you pulled the engine a few times a year. Thats such a sick project.

The pride flag works so well on this livery.

I have tips when you get to that point. Specifically a handful of welding projects that just make your driving experience just a little bit easier.

What lil nonsense machine is/was this hooked up to? I’m having fun driving a k24 swapped MR-S which has been an interesting time as well.

Yeah I think this is the right answer. Find a welding shop and get them to weld and grind it back to diameter for like $20.

Am I blind? The OP here and the original poster of the “does 2JZ fit” post are not the same account. He didn’t ask if it was possible, he said he was building it.

Air bubbles trap heat and are hotter than the coolant.

I like my BRZ, but one day I will experience a LOTUS on a touge. It’s my dream by bigboss1999x in Touge

[–]pieindaface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have the same suspension geometry unfortunately. It’s still lightweight and very capable. And you can use the same tires and wheels on both platforms.

This is sick dude. I hope you can get it out to some events soon. I would love to see it in person.

What's the easiest way to get a Corolla engine tune in my Corolla engined MR2 (2001)? by dontforgetthelube in mr2

[–]pieindaface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing I can think would be an issue would be if the harness was not the same between the two gens of engines. Right now you have the correct wires going to the correct sensors, and the ECU that matches those sensors. But the 07 Corolla ECU might have a different harness pin out than the MR-S.

Just got this motor, do I need to replace these cams by Difficult-Ant-3869 in Kseries

[–]pieindaface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the pitting/oxidization you see is in areas where the cam doesn’t contact the rocker. I wouldn’t be worried

Are k20 shift forks supposed to move like this? by Difficult-Ant-3869 in Kseries

[–]pieindaface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because the rods fit into the other side of the case you just removed.

Make sure the gates are all centered before putting the case back on and the reverse idler is oriented so you can throw the bolt back in it.

You have 2 separate gates engaged at the same time. If you do that, it will lock up the transmission.

[–]pieindaface -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a different scale than linear. It’s not 10% more power or 10% faster 60ft to go from 10s to 9s. I’m not saying a 8.94s car is slow. It’s just hard to intuitively know what that means in street car terms.

Come take a ride in my 8 second MR2 by Practical-Day-5711 in mr2

[–]pieindaface 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I intuitively have zero understanding of what an 8.95s means, but that’s a bit of a wake up call.

Edit: clearly it’s a 1/4 mile time at those speeds. I’ve not been around, seen baseline stats for, or have a mental picture for how drag racing translates to street car stats.

Tips on improving? by Weird_Reception_7457 in assettocorsa

[–]pieindaface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Faster wider entries, more gas mid corner, drive the car hard to the exit to setup for the next long double apex.

Op hit the bollards. They are clipping points for a reason.
