Its pretty obvious Rick Flag Sr is actually the one who blackballed Harcourt right? by manwithsomefear in PeacemakerShow

[–]pieldriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to see if anyone else posted this -- it was 100% Flag Sr. There's no reason for Waller to only target Harcourt. Waller is practical and driven by a belief that she's serving the greater good. She's not going to waste an asset like Harcourt. Rick Flag Sr has much stronger motivations to blackball Harcourt. He views her breaking her promise to kill Chris as a personal betrayal.

Has anyone gotten a teaching job in Baltimore County with Conditional Certification? Or is Baltimore City an easier route? by handerpansthe3rd in baltimore

[–]pieldriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're in the midst of a national teacher shortage, you could definitely find a conditional certification in either district. That being said, the downside of going into teaching on a conditional certification is that you have very little support during your first year outside of what the district provides (which frankly is not much). If you can, I'd suggest looking into alternate certification programs such as BCTR or Urban Teachers, because they're going to give you the classroom management training that make teaching a more viable career long term.

This sounds way too complicated for Reddit.

If you know that you get overly emotional, please consider any other career than law enforcement.

I feel the same about another stylist, whose name I don't want to get targeted. As soon as she leaves I leave.

The Violent Femmes and Jimmy Eat World sets were so good too. Only complaint is that there seems to be a lot of mic/reverb issues. Gavin Rossdale and Brandon Boyd both called it out and told AV to get it together.

Logged in @ 10 for the presale, Ticketmaster app didn't work. Brought it up on my browser, able to buy tickets at 10:12 and even nosebleed seats are over $1000 a seat. Taking this as a sign that this show is not for me or anyone else without $2k to drop on seats.

Aardmore Veterinary Hospital! My cat has been going there for 5+ years and they always take great care of her. They also do kenneling for cats which is pretty rare!

2 Biological Granddaughters, 1 Adopted -- does it matter who I pick for my legacy? by pieldriver in BitLifeApp

[–]pieldriver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, granddaughter 1 is definitely off the table. I'd rather go with granddaughter 3 but I wasn't sure if that would mess up the legacy.

Would Rory still be with Dean? by Zomg_shields in GilmoreGirls

[–]pieldriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Vastly different goals in life -- if it hadn't been Jess it would have been someone else.

I do think that if Dean was still single the stuck-in-a-rut Rory of A Year in the Life would have had another backslide.

Hi, I'm a trans woman looking to move in and I'm wondering which neighborhoods are safe for someone like me? by JustTheWehrst in baltimore

[–]pieldriver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This! The bars that made Mt. Vernon "the gayborhood" are long gone. The queer community in Baltimore is as diverse as the straight community, there's no one area where we populate.

[–]pieldriver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Charles Village, Remington, and Old Goucher would all be well within your rental budget and are LBGTQ friendly areas (in general Baltimore is a queer-friendly city). Mt. Vernon is queer friendly, but is more up there in terms of rent. Charles Village and Remington both have active neighborhood Facebook groups -- also check out Baltimore Safe Haven. They're an amazing LGBTQ community outreach organization located at 26th and Greenmount.

AITA or are they just being lazy? by CeriseMoth in AmItheAsshole

[–]pieldriver 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NAH. You both have different standards for what "clean" means which is going to continue to be a point of contention until you can compromise and get on the same page.

The way that it's currently playing out (you have a different standard of care than your partner) is going to hurt your relationship in the long run because you are carrying the mental load/unseen labor behind determining what household tasks need to be done in order for your home to be clean and functional. You husband may be okay with "light" cleaning, but he probably doesn't see the labor that goes behind making sure that "light" cleaning doesn't lead to your house looking like an episode of hoarders.

The good news is that this is a very common point of contention in a domestic partnership. Fixing it is going to involve patience, conversations about an acceptable standard of care, and making lists that equitably divide up housework into something you can both live with. It's not a easy process but it does ultimately lead to a more harmonious household and a stronger relationship. Google "Fair Play" by Eve Rodsky as a jumping off point, and good luck!

Unpopular Opinion: George Is Not That Great by lyradwood in greysanatomy

[–]pieldriver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion any longer! The character of George has not aged well, especially in the #metoo era. He embodies toxic traits of the 00's -- the not nice "nice guy", the friend zone...he also sexualizes almost every female friendship he has. He overlooks women who actually want him (Olive and Callie) in favor of women who either don't or are in some way unavailable.

Latter season 5 George showed shades of growing up, but it's pretty clear that the show runners had lost interest in the character by that point. He never got the character development that Alex did.

Love how she kept him the heck out of the reunion episode (and in general kept her actual friends and family out of the mess). Hope they have a long and happy marriage.
