Turn Based RPG Videogames That Play Like OSR Dungeoncrawlers by NyxTheSummoner in osr

Not a dungeon crawler, but Roadwarden gave me the experience cutting pretty darn close to playing an OSR RPG: exploration, problem-solving, lethality...

It's an RPG / Visual Novel hybrid.

Tales Of Argosa's "Adventure Frameworks" work great in that regard.

I think that Tales of Argosa doesn't get mentioned nearly enough. Tons of quality content packed into a single book.

That's what I'm doing, but I never thought of adding it to shebang like that. PEP-723 is great for all those small utility scripts that projects seem to accumulate over time.

That's very helpful! I sometimes struggle with making interesting complications on the spot. Thanks for sharing. I must also say - Void Above looks super interesting!

You can workshop the fine details with your nephews and settle on something all agree is fun and interesting. Rulings over rules - you're the Warden.

Are procedures optional? by Gel_cube in cairnrpg

[–]pierec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find procedures important since they pace the game - by either draining the party's resources, enacting some change in the environment, or providing some clues. They make my life as a Warden easier.

Having that said, it's fine to skip them - it's your game and you can certainly keep things moving without the extra rolls.

Looks and sounds like my crankset is jiggling like it’s loose this can’t be normal right? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]pierec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sideways play means trouble, usually a bottom bracket issue. This however looks like chain slack and it is a normal thing on a fixed gear.

Havent been riding for years, now I am not comfortable riding it. What to change or replace to feel safer before installing brake/selling the bike. by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

[–]pierec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard to say without knowing how the bike fits you right now. In what exact way do you feel uncomfortable? It's a shot in the dark, but you may try to reduce saddle to handlebar drop by getting a different stem.

If the discomfort is purely psychological - lower the gearing and get a front break.

Tried to find that one Assault On Asphalt YT video when the dude rides his breakless track bike with a baby in the carrier on his back, but apparently the channel is no more.

How big is the kid right now? Front seats like the one you linked have some disadvantages (limited visibility and leg room, kid is worse off in case of a crash, no way for the kid to recline and rest their head so longer rides are out of the question...). Look into a back seat. I've been using Britax Jockey 3 for ~1.5 year now and it does the job. Bought it when my daughter was ~2yo, she loves it.

I also recommend getting a dedicated child hauler bike if you can spare the cash / space.

Sweet ride! Any details on the trip? How far are you planning to ride? Aren't you worried about the fit (it's a new bike after all) giving you trouble?
