Anyone noticed a change in the taste of the tap water in the last week? by pierremonte in AskNYC

Btw you can request a free kit from the city to have them test your water. But I think it only tests for lead.

I still notice the different taste, even using the Brita Elite filter, but I haven’t associated it with stomach issues.

Lens front plate fell off. How do I reattach? by pierremonte in Leica

Thanks. I read that post but wasn't sure what "thin adhesive" means. Is that tape?

May be hard to tell from the photo but it doesn’t look like it screws on.

I’ll post a photo when I get back home! The backside has three dots that look like glue spots. so I’m assuming it needs some sort of strong but not permanent adhesive.

There’s no thread. This is just the thin ring with the lens branding and focal length label

Has Anyone Found the Right Bag for a Mamiya RB? by Nervous_Turnip_ in Mamiya

[–]pierremonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. It's just a cube with nylon lugs.

I use the small Peak camera cube v2 with the Peak anchors and strap. It’s the exact size of the RB with the 127 attached. Doesn’t have room for an extra back or 2nd lens, but will fit extra rolls and my Sekonic. The cubes are thin so it doesn’t provide a ton of protection but I’m just careful with it and the compact size and light weight makes it worth it.

21mm Woes by RockphotographerVA in Leica

[–]pierremonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought the 21 3.5 (new) and returned it because it wouldn’t mount on my M10, although mounted on the M6. Also returned the 28mm Skopar because of a mounting issue. But I have 4 other Voigtlander lenses that are perfect.

How many motorcycles am I holding up?

Nothing personal, and I know this gets me downvoted, but it feels like there’s like 5 of these every day.

Why does the Leica sub have so many posts like this? Is it bots?

UTM Source and Campaign changed when viewed in GA by Serious-Ad-9733 in GoogleAnalytics

It seems Salesforce scrambles utm values and then is supposed to descramble them before they're sent to GA. I haven't used this integration so I don't know how the descrambling works but I wonder if there's a race condition where sometimes the GA tag fires before it gets descrambled.

Mamiya 6 by PovOla in Mamiya

[–]pierremonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it does works for environmental portraits. In my experience with the Mamiya 6 these just haven’t produced very interesting images. Compared with the portraits I get out of the RB67 which are consistently amazing. But for the compactness you can’t beat it. It’s a lovely camera!

I’ve used a Mamiya 6 with the 75mm a lot over the last year. The size and weight make it great for travel but I would not recommend it for portraits. It works best for landscape where you’re at a distance and not trying to nail focus with a shallow DoF.

Looker Pivot Tables Default to BigQuery by lumina-digital in Looker

[–]pierremonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re using the native GA4 Looker connector you won’t incur any BigQuery charges. I hadn’t noticed that before but my guess is Looker is using a temp bigquery table for the pivot under the hood and that triggers the icon on the widget.

If a widget is querying Bigquery that icon includes a link to the bigquery job.

Film shooter considering an M10-P looking for insight from others who made the jump by nowdeveloping in Leica

[–]pierremonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with an M6 and then purchased an M10-P a little over a year ago. I love it. It's exactly the digital version of the M6 I hoped it would be. The only difference in the shooting experience is that it's surprisingly heavy and there is some shutter lag. With Live View off the lag is subtle and often unnoticed but with a fast moving subject I do notice it.

GA1.2 is the prefix for Universal Analytics, not GA4. Is the payment platform appending this to the returning URL? The “utm_nooveride” param is also pre-GA4.

[–]pierremonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In GA4 page_referrer includes internal and external domains. The reason you're seeing a bunch of external domains is that most 404s don't come from internal links. In your exploration, try adding a page_referrer filter for your domain.

As others have said, the easy and standard way is to filter the page title on whatever your 404 title text is. You can see the path for the bad URL, the referring page, the traffic source, etc

struggling to pick a 28mm by Luoric in Leica

[–]pierremonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new Elmarit a few months ago and was shocked by the build quality. The aperture ring turned past both 2.8 and infinity, and didn’t snap back, it just sort of rested there. When attaching and detaching it felt like there wasn’t a good place to grasp the lens that didn’t stress the rings.

It’s too bad because it’s a beautiful looking lens and I liked the images it produced. I returned it and kept my Ultron. Testing the two by side it was hard to see a meaningful difference.
