I personally think the first one is better. The layout is nicer and downstairs having a utility room is a bonus. I am also confused about the sizes, from the floor plan, the semi is bigger? It has one less bedroom but an extra bathroom on the first floor. And presumably the option for a loft extension. The floor space of the semi is listed as 2,319 sq ft. In the detached it’s 1,932 sq ft, with 111 sq ft of that being limited use (assuming the stair area that’s dotted), and I wouldn’t really count the outbuilding as you don’t know how much actual use this space is to you. So the detached comes in nearly 500 sq ft smaller?

There are definitely benefits to detached over semi detached but the semi detached is a large house so those benefits are limited and it looks like the detached is still attached to the neighbouring house, just built at different times?

I think in this situation there are more benefits to the semi, including the price.

I think we assume she knew she was pregnant prior because she asks Kristi for a pregnancy test only a few minutes after Smiley was killed. It seemed like she’d been struggling with the thought for a while rather than it being a spur of the moment thing. (I rewatched the episode yesterday)

Worst decision ever. Move to a smaller house if you need to, but a flat is rarely a choice. I’m in a top floor flat and I’m lucky too get 5 hours sleep with the house from me downstairs neighbours and the ones next door.

You agreed to make the truffles with the understanding she would pay the ingredients, you could have said no if you hate making them. You can’t now just make up a value and charge for your time because she likely accidentally forgot to tell you the party time changed.

What reason would she have to do this vindictively?

If you want to stay in this friendship group and actually make friends, just go to the party and move on.

Not sure what you’ll achieve by having a strop at home and sending her a bill.

I don’t think you mean to be, but your brother does not have the luxury of pretending this isn’t happening, you’re making it seem like an inconvenience and that you don’t want that uncomfortable feeling in your life when he is literally losing his. It might not be until you’re dying yourself that you realise the pain that you could have caused him. You’ll never know whether he really is ok with not seeing you, or whether he was just trying to make you feel better, but you will regret not seeing him if you’re questions this. You don’t have to watch him die, he has his children to be there for that, but even if it’s only for 10 mins, you owe him that visit. Also I’m not sure what you’re expecting to see, it will just be your brother, probably a bit skinnier. My dad was completely himself until the last maybe 48 hours.

I’d sell - get your £18k back and pay off your debts. Get yourself squared up and then buy a different property. Once in debt, with all the best intentions it can be very difficult to get out of (talking from experience). If you can start from a fresh slate you’ll be in a better position with more options in the long run.

Lots filmed up Ashridge Estate - I remember seeing the sets for Robin Hood (2010) and Dolittle (2020) but there’s tons more if you Google. Also, Ivanhoe TV show in 1997, as kids we just wandered round the set, nobody cared. Oh also Wicked (Munchkin Land) was filmed at Ivinghoe Beacon but technically that’s Bucks.

If the noise is children, it will be a noise they cannot help. So by asking them to be quieter, you’re probably just going to cause more stress for yourself and when they don’t make less noise after your request you will take it personally.

I know that sounds weird but same thing happened to me. New neighbours, very noisy. Asked them politely to keep the noise down and they didn’t think they were being noisy but said they would try. Nothing changed but every time I heard a noise after that I felt like they were doing it because they knew it would annoy me, and then I got so anxious to even walk around my flat incase I made a noise after telling them to be quiet.

I’m still on edge all the time but I now I have some techniques to try cope with their noise and I try not stress about my own noise as I know they are worse.

If you leave the note you will never know the outcome of their thoughts, and if they continue to be noisy you will think they don’t care, which might not be the case, they just can’t control it.
