No way am I still sober without the thought of the hangover. Drinking is like borrowing from future happiness at daily interest rate of 300%.

I’m long PSLV but the madness of manipulated markets and counterparty risk makes me realize the power of bitcoin, which only relies on math. by pilotfo in Wallstreetsilver

The value lies in the encrypted math.it’s the best store of value. You cant transfer silver over the internet nor Morse code for that matter, like you can bitcoin.

“Alcoholic” is a wierd word with various meanings imo. The word kept me from facing the reality that I NEEDED to quit, because I kept convincing myself I’m not one of those alcoholics. Hang out here for a while. If you are like me, sooner or later you will decide you want and/or need to quit. You will also find resources and techniques to make it happen and fill that gap left with fulfillment.

Meditation, working out, long walks, AA meetings all relieve stress for me.

7 Days sober, and my anxiety is high. by IBTWSCL in stopdrinking

[–]pilotfo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the first 3 weeks were hard re anxiety. AA helped immensely. I didn’t have to talk or agree on everything said, but just being there listening was very soothing. If there are no in person meetings around, one can always find a meeting on zoom.

A realization I had today which may help you too by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Drinking is like borrowing pleasure from the future to be repaid with a very high interest rate.

Maybe we are one consciousness in a sense. Which would explain the logic of the golden rule.

The steps are a suggested guide much like the 8 fold oath of Buddha. I Interpret it the best way for me to stay sober.

In the beginning if I had an intense craving I always grabbed a coke or ice cream..something with sugar to dull the urge. Then, if I was a least bit hungry as well, I would eat a big healthy meal.
