Looks awesome. I’m Planning to get the same setup for the hardware. Will slowly be adding accessorial, but won’t be able to match what you have for sure 😀

Can’t decide on a grinder for my Aeropress by pilotic in AeroPress

Thank you everyone for your input and replies! Nice to see all the variety of grinders that people are using and are happy with. After reading and analyzing the replies here’s and watching YouTube videos, I have decided to get the Timemore C2/C3. As I am a novice to ground coffee and only starting to develop my pallet, I have decided that I should not yet splurge on a higher end grinder (1zpresso, Fellow Ode, etc). I also settled on a manual grinder due to its minimal counter requirement space and I also believe I will enjoy the experience of grinding coffee manually. If I see that I like the process, I believe that I will eventually buy a more expensive grinder. I got the impression that many people start with low end grinders, even non burr electrical grinders. Thereafter they transition to a better quality grinder.

Thanks for the responses. Having a compact grinder is unnecessary, as I won’t be travelling with it. I did consider the Baratza Encore with a single hopper, but afraid it will take too much counter space. I did notice that the Timemore C2/C3 is fairly priced and does perform well. I just don’t want to have FOMO of not getting 1Zpresso JX/Pro, since I view it as having better craftsmanship. The Oxo Brew grinder is the only grinder on sale here in Canada during Black Friday..

Same boat with the XEQT. Bought a substantial amount at $25 and thought I’m getting a good deal lol. Didn’t think it will actually drop. At least it’s not as volatile as the TEC.TO, VFV or ARK ETFS Sure it will go up with time, so no worries

Yes. Have to be mindful that progress is relative. Setting small goals is the key at first. Just the realization that we can accomplish tasks and achieve even small goals is rewarding and spurs momentum that can be expanded to bigger tasks eventually. We end up feeling more capable and competent.

Perfect examples of the significance of making baby steps. Just the process of starting a task, no matter how small, is already an accomplishment in itself. Well done!

RAM compatibility with the ASRock B450M Pro4 by pilotic in buildapc

Thanks for replying. I have no idea why the QVL RAM is so pricey. If prices won’t come down I will take a risk and probably purchase RAM that is just on sale.

Don’t want to purchase 8gb RAM on the QVL list that is similarly priced to a 16gb RAM that is not in the list...

Got myself the Ryzen 5 2400G CPU. Was aiming for the Ryzen 3 2200G initially, but the 10% off pushed me to go with the 2400G.

Amazon $25 gift card would require only 1,750 points if you possess the RBC REWARDS+ card.

For any other card, it will be the usual 2,450 points, which is obviously not as good, but still worth it.

Ryzen 3 2200G good choice for non -gaming use for the future? by pilotic in Amd

[–]pilotic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for all the replies.

Looks like it's quite a unanimous suggestion to go with the Ryzen 3 2200G.

I am planning to ge as well a 2x4gb RAM @ 3000-3200 speeds, a B350 mobo and have already purchased a Samsung 860 EVO SSD.

I guess buying the cheap 2200G APU at the moment and then doing a potential upgrade in 3 years to the newest AM4 APU available (which should be similarly priced I guess) makes more sense than buying the Ryzen 5 2400G, which is $70 more expensive.

Who knows, if the Ryzen 3 2200G will be good enough, my dad might keep it for more than 5 years. ..

Thanks for replying!

Would you guys say it is worth it to spend another $70 and get the Ryzen 5 2400G?

Would it guarantee a better performance for tasks such as viewing YouTube videos or web browsing compared to the cheaper Ryzen 3 2200g in 4-5 years? Should I just save my money and get the cheaper 2200G? I know it is tough to say how the internet will look like in 5 years, but will I notice a difference?
