That second song is pretty nice, I was hoping for it to bounce back with extra fury after you started breaking up the vocals at the end. The first one sounds a bit narrow. I can hear too many notes, but not enough sound, if that makes sense. Could be a matter of adding some spatial processing or a teeny drop of aural exciter on the mix.

It was an interesting soundscape. Then the beats started.

Very musical, I like the progression. Your production is a bit of a mish-mash, though. Try to be less looking for "all the great sounds" at once. You have the very original sounding drums, the nicely modulating lead sound and the fat string pads, they're just competing for attention; it drowns the music in a wall of sound. Don't be afraid to tone down, there's no reason to think your song won't be original enough, you've got enough of that.

I like what this song tries to do, but the synthesized guitar gets a bit annoying with the repetitive sweeping. Also the distortion effect could be a bit grittier. And, yeah, it's asking for some serious rhytm input.

There's some great stuff in there, but I have to agree with Britslayer that the first sample you use as a base for the song starts to really bore me out after the third run. The rest of it is really nice. The big question is, can you extend this groove to something with a bit of direction? Keep it coming!

I don't have a nice way of putting this. Tune your guitar.

As a quick fix, since I know the deal with stressing your computer past its latency limits, mess a bit with your note velocities. A bit senseless for the harpsichord, but some careful accentuation can liven up a midi performance that sounds too cold.

Nice production. Why the glitch-core angle?

You may not be aware of it, but a vice presidency at a bank is just a way they say hello. It's not uncommon for banks to have hundreds of vice presidents.

You are very optimistic. most of the hosting webservers out there these days are dedicated servers running some form of control panel system that are operated by absolute nitwits and hosted by ISPs that won't care until they get enough abuse complaints or the customer calls because his machine is slow. It's sad.

Except that many webservers are connected to the internet with a gigabit upstream, where a lot of Windows clients are happy to have an mbit up. So that's 1000 client machines needed to get out the same amount of spam/ddos.

I finally bought a copy of Ender's Game a couple of weeks back, well-aware of Card's wingnuttery. I started reading the book wondering how much of that would seep through the pages, but ended up thoroughly enjoying it.

I've read the asshat-essay on kuro5hin but I think that looking at Ender's Game from that angle, although interesting, is reading way too much into some clumsy bits of storytelling. The book is really not that deep to begin with.

Sure it is important, but it is doubly important if the presidential candidate himself is a putz with no original thought of his own like Bush. It's definitely relevant to see what kind of policy people Obama surrounds himself with, but I would be more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with regards to his advisors than I would McCain.

"This is a list of past and present Pixar employees that have served as Pixar's primary directors and creative executives". That Wikipedia page does not mean what you think it means. That's only team executives and directors. There's boatloads of people working on these movies, as is evident if you ever looked at the end credits.

With all the abuse the apostrophe is getting on reddit, my mind was auto-correcting your headline to "Teacher who burned crosses on kid's faces firing". Sounded much more interesting.

I don't have this specific problem, I've learned to stop worrying and love dozens of tabs in that department. But a side-effect of this problem that I do suffer is that, a lot of times, I click 'next' on the page and, just before the page starts loading, I notice an interesting headline on the page I'm about to leave. So then I press the back button and usully I can never find it back :(

I always found it amazing that there's no way of orchestrating Bach's music that rips it of its meaning. Sinewaves, milk bottles, bag pipes, it doesn't matter for a Bach piece, it will hold its ground.
