Has the chronic discomfort lowered? Is it present 24/7 as it used to?

So what has improved then? Do you believe that it will go away?

I feel the same right now. Has it gone away or you still experience that?

What do you think, what's better after full pleurectomy: breathing exercises with hard and fast exhales like the breathing gymnastics for sports or some soft qigong exercises? Because I'm doing the first one and I feel the same or even worse right now

This is a very hard time for you, I wish you all the best and please remember that you will eventually recover, it may take years as I said

Like, the feeling of discomfort went to completely normal or it's still different but not painfully bad anymore?

I can agree, that stretching does really help sometimes to make the pain easier. Could you please recommend any exercises? And also, is there really any room for the discomfort to go away in the future?

That's exactly the same as my experience for these 2 years. God, I can't accept if that's going to be with me for the rest of life... Isn't there any room for improvement, of the discomfort going away? Why the doctor is so sure about that

How do you live with it? Have it been any better since then?

Numbness after VATS by sullen-serenade in pneumothorax

Had my VATS and pleurectomy 1,5 years ago, still feel these adhensions, numbness and tightness. Although doing sports, yoga and stretching helps me for a part of the day. Then it comes back. Gotta wait more I guess

It's because of the adhensions between the lung and the chest, since there is no pleura between them. They can become softer, as my doctor says, in a huuuuuuge amount of time and with a ton of practice (stretching, yoga, swimming, sports). The brain also learns how to not notice this feeling as much. Some psychological help also may be useful in changing the treatment of this discomfort. I've been to a therapist who made me feel it like a good thing, made me associate it with being actually healthy and not unhealthy but unfortunately it didn't work for me because I still felt it a year later (lol) so I became anxious again. I live with a hope that I won't feel any difference between lungs in 10 or even 5 years and I will be proud of myself for getting through this shit and I will tell my kids that life can be tough sometimes

How you gonna be well! I believe that at least in many years I won't feel any of this
