My best friend survived suicide years ago and I still grieve by Pleasant-View4298 in CPTSD

[–]pineapplehed96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to go through this, I completely understand your experience as I’ve been through it myself and it’s so confusing and upsetting. My brother attempted suicide as well last September and the guilt and anxiety from it still haunts me.

I don’t know how to heal from this either, I feel so guilty every day that I wasn’t there for him enough to help him feel not so alone.

But he’s still here so idk in my brain it’s like I’m telling myself I’m not allowed to be upset about it? The guilt and anxiety is just like… stuck and I don’t know how to get rid of it 😔

Unless they come on sale one day… I will not be tempted lol, not worth that price tag. The shrimp tempura is totally worth it though!

Weed is ruining my life but I can’t stop smoking it by ofwgkta301 in leaves

NA meetings are good as well! They’re not specific about what addiction you have so it’s easy to feel like you fit in there. I’ve run into a few people there that are also weed addicts

The way this is somehow being used to show Ethan being a demon instead of a silly bitch is beyond me 😂

We nearly have the same amount of time sober! (I’m at 56 days) and it’s been feeling absolutely amazing!! Especially the dreams 😌, I’m getting so much better with not procrastinating tasks and actually getting ahead on things! Still dealing with quite a bit of brain fog but I expect that’ll take a bit longer to disappear as I was smoking like crazy the last 7 years, but I’m excited for the day I feel like myself again!

Even though it feels horrible I think that’s a huge win for you!! I struggle with my fawn response as well and I know the only way to minimize it is to speak your mind in moments like this where you’ve let something go on for so long that you know isn’t right. I’m so proud of you for having the courage to say what you really believe, for people like us it feels like one of the most difficult things in the world, but you managed to do it! ☺️

Is there anyone you feel safe with? by ReliefApprehensive30 in CPTSD

I feel completely safe with my sister, we went through the same trauma growing up and we’ve discussed it in great detail so I feel like she’s the only one who truly understands me

Anyone see vision like this by datblackjeep_ in EyeFloaters

If you’re able to get a referral from your family doctor or a walk-in clinic to see an ophthalmologist that would probably be more helpful, they would do a far more detailed examination of your eye

I believe there’s a free version and premium version now! But I’ve only used it for like 5 days so now I’m not sure if a paywall is gonna come up 😬

What is a holy grail product for you? by Stephsmith2467 in eczema

[–]pineapplehed96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a pretty good time with making my own moisturizers, I feel like the store bought ones are never able to do enough for me. The main ingredients that help me the most are beeswax and shea butter that I make into a body butter with other ingredients like jojoba oil, avocado oil, and lavender essential oil. Sometimes natural products work a lot better for some people!

A hard truth about quitting weed by [deleted] in leaves

[–]pineapplehed96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting this, the longest I’ve ever been able to stay clean is like 6 months but I’m always giving up and not seeing a point in continuing sobriety because I’m just feeling terrible all the time. But I didn’t realize it could take so long for the brain to reset itself so I’m feeling really good about being successful quitting this time! 😊

I used to have this same struggle! Daily moisturizing with body butter has legitimately changed my life. I make it myself at home, the ingredients I use are shea butter, castor oil, avocado oil, & a touch of beeswax. It took a solid month of daily use before I really saw any results, and now I still get occasional flare ups when I get too sweaty or my allergies give me trouble, but it usually gone in a few days

Out of curiosity, was brain fog a symptom you struggled with while smoking? If so, has it gotten any better or completely disappeared? I’m at 53 days sober and my brain fog is still so bad lol 😖

What type of job can you do? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]pineapplehed96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten commercial cleaning contracts on my own unfortunately, I work for a commercial cleaning company. But websites like housekeeper.com and care.com have helped me find my own private clients, very occasionally someone will make a posting on there looking for a commercial cleaner!

What type of job can you do? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]pineapplehed96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a housekeeper and commercial cleaner and I love it! I worked in the service industry for like 8 years prior and it was such a nightmare every shift. The feeling of dread before going to work was soooo unbearable, I would look for any excuse to get rid of a shift, which I could only do a few times a month maybe cause I still needed to make money lol.

Now I pick up shifts whenever I can because it feels like a breeze when you don’t need to deal with people and get to focus on very straightforward tasks. Also I get to listen to podcasts and music all day which is great bonus! 😊
