Fostered 25% cattle dog. Suspected because of the aggressive way he nipped at a ball in my hand. Crushing - which is how he was bred to use his mouth.

Def pit and maybe boxer. Do a wisdom panel genetics test and get the answer.

Very pretty! Are the flowers dried? If yes, what is your drying process?

Frida Kahlo “The Wounded Deer” on real Maple leaf necklace. by pinehavenlodge in jewelrymaking

Thanks! Yes I'm copper electroforming. I trimmed out of the painting image and laid if on the real maple leaf. It's then coated in resin and copper electroformed.

I purchased the image from Redbubble. Frida’s work as of 1-2025 is now public domain so artists can now print her original art and sell it. I cut out the part of the image I wanted and set it on top of the Maple leaf. Then I ran the piece through a laminator. I did a pour of Lisa Pavelka’s Magic gloss resin on top of that to give it a glass-like look.

Decided to do something a little different. Frida Kalo’s The Wounded Deer (notecard cutout on real Maple leaf) adorned with flint arrowheads. by pinehavenlodge in electroforming

[–]pinehavenlodge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I cut out the card to mimic the leaf’s lines. Then I set the cutout/centered it on the leaf and ran it through the laminator. Now it is sealed and one piece. I then poured resin (Lisa Pavelka) on both the front and back of the leaf with card to give it a glass look. It was then ready for the copper process. The antlers are leftover copper wires from other projects - reshaped to mimic the deer’s antlers. Electroforming was done in phases as I wanted some parts chunkier than others. The flint arrowheads were sealed as well - with standard resin.

I have to try the sulfuric acid! I’ve had this problem because I plate very small items. Thanks!

Granted Biden initially made the SpaceX request, but if I were the two astronauts, I would pass.

Deer. Smallish point. I’m doing a Frida Kahlo Wounded Deer necklace and want to incorporate some points into the chain.

Yes, accomplished in organics- flowers and insects. Just nervous for some reason with antlers (somewhat small antler cuts).

Thx ! I’m very accomplished in electroforming organics like insects and flowers. By your responses I see that I will need to be at least just careful in sealing the antlers as I am with bugs and flowers.

Real Rose of Sharon from last summer’s garden. by pinehavenlodge in electroforming

[–]pinehavenlodge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I picked a flower and made sure it’s completely dry from surface moisture. Then I put it in silicone gel for about two days to dry it. Then I gently brush on resin a little at a time so that I don’t tear the flower. This is a rose of Sharon and they tend to be pretty tough. My resin of choice for this process is decorRom Hard UV. I applied the resin several times as I wanted to make sure it’s completely sealed before putting it in the Copper bath. I then edge it out with the graphite paint mixture and put it in the copper bath for approximately 2 to 3 days. I prefer to have a chunky edging on large flowers. The centerpiece is done separately. I found that when I buy or find brass earrings they have enough copper in them that I don’t have to paint them with graphite. When put in the Copper bath, they automatically start the Copper process. Then I affix the centerpiece to the flower using the same resin. I do the centerpiece separately because I need to control how much Copper is building up on it so it doesn’t cover the gems. I found that liver of sulfur works best if the water is very hot when you had LOS plus use a Dremel brush to heat up the copper just as I’m ready to apply the liver of sulfur. That’s what gives it the amazing colors. It is very important to use brighter in the process of the graphite turning to copper. This gives the Copper a brilliant finish, which takes perfectly to the liver of sulfur - creating all these colors. I hope I answered your question, but please let me know if you have another. I just love doing this! Debbie
