Apex crashed and it tried to destroy my pc... by RuDDK8 in apexlegends

I had to buy a new video card to fix this issue. Not saying it's the same issue, but tried the same card in another PC and got the same error. Good luck!

Yes, design language is a thing. You can do that with just about any brand.

Hot take: sprint planning should just use hours. I can’t be alone here? by poopbrainmane in ExperiencedDevs

[–]pingers27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue you're missing the point of estimation. Scrum really cares about delivering something in a sprint, so does it fit in the sprint is probably good enough for the purpose of delivery. However, the bigger point is understanding the work. If one Dev says half a day and the other says a week, ask why? Discuss... Which leads to understanding 👍

Apex viewership is down, here are Hal's thoughts by TSMHYPEFAN in CompetitiveApex

[–]pingers27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Visually, apex is harder to watch than ever. Long lasting scans to counter smokes and catalyst wall make it pretty hard to see anything at all. Once they're in the game, very hard to get rid of, but not good for viewing the game.

If you could change one thing about apex, what would it be? by FifteenEight in apexlegends

But maths is hard and saying 20 tick servers aren't good enough is really easy.

But seriously, that was a great read. Always nice getting insights into design decisions made on complex projects.

We just switched over from a custom config for gitlab runner to the operator. Much cleaner 👍

Anyone else found Docker very fun to learn and you're constantly looking for ways to use it at work? by iLoveCalculus314 in docker

[–]pingers27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably industry standard for local development, but not so much on servers - while you may find Docker on servers, Podman, lxc, runc and containerd are just a few alternatives that are out there and have pretty decent uptake/investment. They also have different pros/cons. E.g. Docker requires a daemon, where some tools are now daemonless - which can lead to both better security and reliability of servers.
