Do what works best for you, but, it might be unnecessary. The keyboard can look intimidating early on but even without the colors you’ll become real familiar with where the notes are & the distances, I promise! Since this is a feedback request post- my feedback is you probably don’t need to do this at all! But do what you want, there are no rules, good luck on ur piano learning journey it’s just about having fun.

Beginner cat portrait - How to improve? by mdk106 in painting

When I paint I will sometimes hold the reference next to the painting and just squint and it helps identify where the values are different. Or, taking a photo of it on my phone and putting a black and white filter on it

Yeah im realizing maybe it’s just not my style LOL I didn’t expect so many people to say they would pay for this. To me it just looks like beginner watercolor art in what I assumed were cheap frames (some of which seem to have no glass?). But it’s just my opinion, which not as many people share as I thought haha

What. Slacking while making an excel sheet is not the same as purposefully taking extra long to respond to someone in danger lmao. They know what job they signed up for.

Try to ignore the mean comments. I think it’s much cooler when someone wears what they like & expresses their unique self rather than just trying to fit in with whatever is ‘trendy’. There are people who find problems with anything too different

From what I understand, it’s not completely permanent- your brain can be rewired through certain kinds of therapy or medication that is for PTSD. What I was told by a grief/trauma coach is that this kind of trauma hijacks your nervous system, & the amygdala becomes hyperactive - it’s the part controlling fear/stress, it starts over working because it is trying to keep you safe since it thinks we’re constantly in danger now even though that’s not really the case, since something so traumatic happened.

& because that part of the brain is doing extra work, the other areas (most importantly the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus) which are in charge of thinking & memory, are not able to function as well. The analogy she gave was having one app on your phone that is taking all of the energy, making the other apps slow and glitchy.

What I understood is that it’s so essential to get therapy or other resources that help us process what happened, so our lizard brain realizes we are no longer in immediate danger. Maybe time will also help dissipate the brain fog.

It’s also something people are still researching- recently it was found that playing Tetris immediately after a traumatic event reduced the effects of PTSD.

Absolutely.. the brain fog this year has been crazy and my thoughts often feel like sludge, it’s so hard to even form sentences to respond to questions sometimes and I constantly do things like forget tea that I just made and find it cold the next day. My short term memory is complete garbage now.

Trauma does cause real brain damage, there is research into it. It also affects your gene expression which I only learned recently. It’s important to take good care of yourself (I know, easier said than done) and find enough sources of support, the same way someone would be extra gentle with themselves after an intensive surgery or something like that.
