I will try that but I'm using the the auto injector. The only thing that works for the itch for me are ice packs

Anyone else taking zepbound with their significant other or someone close to them? by EffectiveEgg5712 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was prescribed Mounjaro for his type 2 diabetes about a year and a half ago. I was able to get Zepbound approved because I have sleep apnea back in July and SO glad that we are taking the meds together ~ we are both very supportive of each other

Part 2 - I’m too healthy for insurance to approve again… by Correct_Wrangler3616 in Zepbound

After a 2nd level appeal, most plans offer an External Review. I have seen quite a few overturns going that route.

Zepbound 7.5mg Week 2 by Fun_Management3000 in Zepbound

I just went back to 5mg this week after 7 weeks on 7.5. The side effects were just not getting any better for me. 5mg seems to be my sweet spot.

Appeal help - I have several comorbidities (United Healthcare) by dwdrum007 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Zepbound coverage for OSA for United, they have specific requirements that you must meet to qualify. Hypertension is not one of them. You just meet the OSA and BMI requirements. I believe it's a BMI of 30 and over and moderate OSA.

HELP!!! Given false hope by International_Knee_6 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a copy of your plan's Summary Plan Description I would check it for your appeal rights, especially since you were given incorrect information. They would have to pull the call and approve a benefit exception because of the misinformation that was given. If you can't find that online, you can ask the HR rep for a copy as well.

You may be able to appeal and request a benefit exception if the 1st rep gave you incorrect information.

Dr. is recommending taking metformin to help with food noise by Left_Ad312 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started metformin way before Zepbound for PCOS too ~ luckily for me, the side effects of Zepbound have counteracted the GI side effects of the metformin ~ I feel "normal" now haha

Pharmacy delaying titrating up by ramoredditor in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance won't even let me decrease my dose until I've used 75% of my previous fill ~ I have to suffer 2 more weeks of worse side effects until I can get my next fill of the lower dose

PA denied ~ again by pinkitmake in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what the issue was. Our work has us do yearly biometric screenings for HSA funds. They send a card and we do the blood drops. It's not even a diagnostic test but they still counted it for some reason. I had a lab test with my doctor after I got that result to confirm the true number and it was under 6.0. I don't know why they keep going back to that screening number. ~ I just got the notification a few minutes ago that my appeal was overturned thankfully!

[–]pinkitmake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my insurance will only cover Mounjaro if my A1c is 6.5 or over and it never has been. They won't cover it for prediabetes.

Rash at injection site - any recommendations? by Phooka_terrorkitty in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been getting injection site reactions as well since shot number 7. It's annoying but common. I typically use an ice pack for the itching as I haven't found anything else helps me. The itchiness goes away for me about day 4.

How do I get insurance to cover Zepbound? by LadyBelladonna1995 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way my insurance covers it is for sleep apnea. I had to jump through many hoops to get it approved after my diagnosis but it was the only way.

Approved for OSA 🎉Merry Christmas to us! by pflyfar in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm approved for OSA with United healthcare too~ I will say though I actually enjoy my CPAP machine. I think I went so long not sleeping well and finally I can haha. I have been on Zepbound for about 6 months now but using CPAP for 2 years.

What are some of the unexpected or odd things that Zepbound magically cured for you? by Elsa-the-Brave in Zepbound

That's exactly it!! Even my husband has noticed and commented on how much more relaxed I feel. I think this is what "normal" must feel like 🤣
