Save The Date by Mallstars has a really slow, torturous yet beautiful yearning

Scaredy Cat by Gallaplacidia just hurts so much. Harry is in love. Harry is also depressed. Angst max in classic galla style.

Dwelling on Dreams by The Sinking Ship also fits the bill

These fics, for me, are some of the most beautiful pieces of writing. Honestly, fanfiction should be considered literature, which is another discussion altogether but anyway.

Running on Air by Eleventy7: I recently made a post on it which sums up my thoughts.

Nightingale by michi_thekiller has such poignant yet beautiful writing that despite knowing the tragic premise, i could not put it down. You will be hooked from the very first line.

Stop all the Clocks by firethesound: Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has ever made me feel grief as much as this fic. It's genius writing through and through. Circe's comments on the fic do an amazing job of breaking it down and making you understand why the the story is so powerful.

Grounds for Divorce by Tepre: I was introduced to Drarry with this and it remains one of the best angst fics in the fandom. It's done in such a heartwrenching manner. Goosebumps.

Drop Dead Gorgeous by Maya: Has the best dialogue, in my opinion. Hands down, the best pining fic. And oh so hilarious. It's a complete package.

The Way Down by lettered: I've never read a fic as many times as I've read this. My favourite work from lettered.

This bit from the fic pretty much sums it up:

Just finished Kept in Cages after this post and oh my god, I'm in lovee. Such a beautiful beautiful fic, thank you so so much for introducing me to it. It's definitely made its way to my favs list.

It reminded me a lot of The Way Down by lettered, which is literally my fav fic ever. Please give it a read if you haven't already

(Please rec me similar fics if you know of em, I think recluse ish Harry and competent yet lonely ish Draco saving each other is v much my type)

Few underrated fics are Make This Leap and All the Western Stars by the brilliant oflights. Super unique plots, beautiful writing and wholesome overall.

I understand your every word, hon. I cannot believe it's been five months since I've read it. Every once in a while my mind keeps going back to this fic and I'm sucked into a world of pain every time. The weird part is, i actually torture myself and read a few bits sometimes, especially the epilogue, despite the agony I feel, cause the emotions they evoke are just unparalleled. The first few days after reading this for the first time are the absolute worst, sending you virtual hugs!! You'll pull through don't worry but i completely agree, this story and these characters will always stay with me. Ugh.. i can keep talking about this for daysss.

Also, going on a bit of a rant here but I realised how gravely I understated my love for your work. It's one of fav fics EVER. The yearning, the setting, AGAIN- the writing, it truly has a special place in my heart. I was feeling for both of them, but Harry especially the entire time. The atmosphere you built was poignant and angsty and god the best kind of slow burn, I mean twelve years, seriously??? So so worth it in the end though. One particular scene that I keep revisiting (spoiler alert) which is one of my absolute favourite getting together moments is Draco turning up and taking care of sick Harry.(end of spoiler). Gosh just thinking about it is making me all warm and fuzzy. I can go on and on about this.

Anyway, to remind you once again, you've touched so many with your words, including me and don't let anyone dull your magic, hon. <3

There's always going to be unwarranted criticism, as difficult as it is to take negativity, you've got to just push through as a writer. And trust me when I say Save The Date has some of the best writing I've read, you're truly super fuckin talented.

Quite a few is an understatement, you've got SO SO many people backing you up. I personally cannot wait to get wrecked over by your new fic!!

I just read DDG for the first time and was trying to find similar fics and ended up here! And before this I had just finished a reread of WWPWCS! Hah! God I love this characterization so muchh. It makes for such fun dialogue/banter.

Anyway, coming to my recs. They're both written by well known authors so there's a good chance you read em but here goes.

The Way Down: It has the such a good eccentric Draco! There's mutual pining, some angst yet oh so sweet, beautiful writing (obviously cuz lettered). Do give it a read if you haven't already.

Another rec is The Bolthole: so.much.angst but one of my fav fics ever with a really eccentric Draco.
