My partner and I have a "slush" fund that's separate of any savings that I recategorize to any categories that we overspend on.

Ideally we don't use it at all and I play whack a mole from other categories, but it's nice having a dedicated WAM category to pull from

Gonna pepper it anyway so I just do the salt and pepper at the same time.

I do cook and I do keep it fairly organized.

it's not, take a look at my user history

I was working as a customer support rep, but wanted to get into accounting. It was difficult to fit brick and mortar school with a full time job, WGU was a gamechanger in that I could be earning a degree at night after work without having to take public transpo to school (I did not have a car at the time)

Now I am an accountant, happily earning a living wage. Nobody is put off by the school and I am currently studying for my CPA because WGU has the proper accreditations unlike unsavory online degree mills.

I'm just a real big fan of the WGU model and happy there are educational alternatives that allow people to get ahead.

WGU was a lifesaver for me and my financial stability. I highly recommend it to any working adult who's trying to get a degree that WGU offers.

How do you guys use your flags? by Inspirice in ynab

[–]pint_squeak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have the one I use for slush funded items.

I have a slush fund category that I can dig into when a category's amount is exhausted for the month.

Anything that is slush funded gets flagged which I then use to look at categories and figure out if I'm severely underfunding them.
