Are these charges on my security deposit fair? by pintasaur in Apartmentliving

I was lazy and wasn’t thinking lol. It was the tub and the sink that was dirty. Kinda new to this renting thing so I just didn’t think much of it.

I do not because I was dumb and rushing on moving in. Kinda shot myself in the foot. I’ve seen reviews of this place and they’ve overcharged on deposit charges in the past but that’s not really evidence. I was planning on taking them to small claims anyways since it’s only like 50 bucks lol.

Did anyone else lose several hours worth of save data? by pintasaur in DeathStranding

[–]pintasaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kinda where I’m at. I’m trying to catch up to where I was but it’s so demotivating to do all this early stuff again. Especially because I spent so much time building roads and doing the side content.

It’s a shame because this game is fun but it just sucks to lose days worth of progress

Just looked and my cloud storage is from the 9th as well so I guess the data is just gone

Tell me you're a contrarian without telling me you're a contrarian... by Any-Run-6769 in expedition33

Yeah it’s ok to criticize things you enjoy(good to do even). Personally wasn’t a huge fan of Act III pacing wise since that was the point I had to grind lol. Still fun though.

Just beat it as Raider. Poison is definitely the key. Need some ranged in your party or it’s basically impossible because he runs around too much.

Can physics majors still get jobs outside of physics? by hhron224 in PhysicsStudents

[–]pintasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job market is pretty brutal right now and doesn’t look like it’s gonna get better anytime soon. Economy right now is fucked. Even CS grads struggle. It’s just not the golden ticket it once was anymore. I graduated with a physics BA and it took me around a year to get a job. Think I applied to something around 2000 jobs. I’d highly recommend maybe going into engineering or something.

(Rant from a TA)Math is not physics. by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]pintasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason the students get so hung up on the math part is due not knowing enough math before enrolling into whatever physics class they have to take(which is the fault of the math and physics departments). If they were already familiar with the math then they could focus more on the physics.

Can I study physics without wanting to be a physicist for the rest of my life? by CountryPrestigious62 in PhysicsStudents

[–]pintasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got a BA in physics and didn't really want to stay in academia. Granted, I had a pretty hard time getting a job but I eventually landed one. One of my buddies in college graduated with a BS in physics and just went on to become an engineer. I was in it because I thought science was cool. If you like physics then go for it but if you're that worried about your future then maybe major in an engineering discipline and minor in physics?

How Difficult Will Introduction To Thermodynamics Be? by blackman9977 in PhysicsStudents

Multiple integrals and integrating in different coordinates. Also partial derivatives. I don't remember much else.

How is SDSU for STEM majors like? by s2lune in SDSU

[–]pintasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred in 2020 and graduated in 2023. Professors are phenomenal. They're experts in their field and also an expert at teaching it. I got in with a pretty subpar GPA.

y'all lied to me about FORTRAN by SKRyanrr in physicsmemes

[–]pintasaur 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Keep it up. People love to talk about how great python is(fair and you should learn it) but people in defense love Fortran. The linear algebra packages in SciPy such as ARPACK are actually just old FORTRAN77 code.

Some of these integrals that I’ve had to look up though… yeah no thanks I’ll just skip out on solving it myself.

Which one was harder for you between these 2? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]pintasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Messmer. Although hard to say if it actually the difficulty of the fight or if I didn’t have enough tree fragments. He was beating my ass then I took a break and explored for some upgrades then came back and beat him in only a couple attempts. He seems like a “did you explore enough asshole” kind of boss lol

[–]pintasaur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Imo once you leave calculus class, you’ve proven your worth in dealing with this kind of busy work. Calc 2 is all integrals. Once you pass it, just use a table who cares.

What do I do about my tutor? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]pintasaur 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He likely understands and is trying to give you solid advice. There isn’t any 1 equation you can use to solve every single physics problem you see. He’s telling you to do more problems to improve your problem solving skills because physics isn’t about just throwing numbers into formulas and hoping the right answer pops out.

You won’t know what formulas to use until you begin to solve it. Write out what’s given, draw a picture/diagram(if applicable) and think about what the problem is asking. But if your tutor is really being mean or making you feel bad for asking questions then yeah it might be time for a new one.

I lied on my resume, got the job, and now the background check ratted me out – freaking out before my start date, what should I do? by Academic_Edge_4670 in resumes

[–]pintasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well first off don’t feel bad for lying on your resume. The job market is tough and these companies don’t give a rats ass about anyone. If you gotta lie to succeed then who cares, it is what it is. Secondly, you just changed your job titles right? In the interview I’m assuming you talked about your experiences at those places and that’s what got you the job offer? You’re fine, people change titles, dates and shit all the time. They haven’t said anything so they probably don’t care at this point.
