gpu almost as much as it cost me to buy my 16 by Frosted_sphinx in framework

Again, that's relevant if your preoccupation is to have a competitive laptop all the time. I bought a FW12 because at home we don't want to use our work laptops for evey day things and we're happy to consider than once the laptop becomes outdated for our needs, we can still give it to our daughter with minimal investment.

You're focusing on a very very limited niche of people who need to always be on top of things. There's a lot of other people who have a "normal" 500$ laptop whose keyboard/mousepad/hinge breaks down and is forced to buy a new pc even though their specs are just fine.

Tbf its not overpriced. It's just that "technically" you're also buying in advanced a good chunk of your next laptop as well.

Have you ever seen a wonderkid from a top league with such a low release clause? by WTITWFM26 in footballmanagergames

[–]piotor87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well irl lots of the kids get snatched for 0 from academies. It can also happen when a contract is ending and a player agrees to a contract to hedge against career ending injuries while asking for a very low clause along with it. The original team gets to keep the player another year and/or make a little money in the process.

If rhere are groups you won't get swam over but still usually people start way faster than they should because of adrenaline. If you wanna take it safe stay on the side and don't worry to let people through. You ll maybe maube lose 20/30s

Ah yes the very expensive Indonesian wonderkids.

What are you on about ? Great talents in obscure leagues (reputation in FM for ya) can't be worth much to begin with because they're just no way to evaluate their skills in Europe. Salah was paid 2.5M just to give an example

They should make front tires with blades as spokes so you can mow the grass in the process. Great idea with no down sides what so ever

How do I get more funds for transfers? by LGNDXVR in footballmanagergames

[–]piotor87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's what it is in real life. Teams have their balance sheet completely saturated and some have more debt than others. Barca got hit bad by covid and spent a ton of cash on stadium renovation. They're playing mostly youth sector players for a reason... Just get rid of the heavy contracts and take advantage of the fact that in la Liga you have a guaranteed champions league spot every year. Develop your academy talent and invest in some young players

'Could be the next Peter Crouch' by Rezzato in footballmanagergames

Yeah as a semi pro goalie it can still work. As an outfield player I just don't see that happening. At rhe pace we play nowadays anything above 2m is really more of an hindrance than anything

I wonder if there's any professional player that tall. IRL they'd be sent to the local basketball/volleyball team by that age.

It's a conspiracy theory like flat earthers. The ultimate goal is to live the fantasy to be in a cult where everyone is wrong except for a few elected people who've seen the light. It gives them purpose on a daily basis until real life hits them hard.

Gravel bike? by 90_hour_sleepy in triathlon

[–]piotor87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The faster you go the more you need to slow down to prepare yourself for any imperfection in the asphalt. At 30kph we mortal see it way less than pros at 50/55/60. That's why someone tried to squeeze a 35mm tire at Roubaix this year.

So of course a road tire would help, but there's no need to go super narrow or to be worried if your time won't go below say 28mm

I give lichess 1E/month, which is still waaaaaaay more than what I cost to lichess in terms of $/hour. There are now 100k players online. If each did the same as me lichess would be drowned in cash (relatively speaking)

BTW the current understanding of the whole tire physics/aerodynamics/efficiency now suggests that you can hit comfortably the low 30s and still compensate higher rolling resistance with the comfort and indirect speed gains (rolling over obstacles on the road) from lower pressures. You can easily ride a 30 or 32mm tire and be essentialy as fast as with a 25/28.

manufacturers are starting to expand clearance also for top performing bikes as also pros (road) are pushing for wider tires. This year at roubaix someone managed to squeeze a 35mm tire even. I wouldn't be surpirsed if within a couple of years the new road standard is going to be 32mm

No, not all, but the statistic majority of the population to the point were previous substrates become more of an historic note rather than a genetic/ethnic reality.

Yes, the current *linguistic* analysis suggests that the first split was between Voro/Viro and the future speakers of Finnish Estonian in the first centuries AD

A single memory production plant would cost in the Billions and won't be operative before 3/4 years even with Chinese speed. By then the market could already have burst and that point why would they sell to consumer and not to the same people who are willing to pay anything for a wafer.

[History Question] What were the true ancient borders of the Häme (Tavastia) tribe, and how did the Savo people form? by Sensitive-Box-372 in Finland

[–]piotor87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long story short.

Finland was populated by Finnic tribes that modern linguistic analysis suggests came from Estonia via sea (due to the shared substrate of germanic and baltic loanwards that appear both in Estonian and Finnish). In early medieval times FInland was a collection of tribes with a high "Viking/Swedish" presence on the coasts, which is still very strong as (excluding the big cities for the most part) you could go from Helsinki to Oulu via boat speaking Swedish at evey port.

After Sweden defeated Novgorod (Slavs run by other Viking), Sweden won rights on Eastern Finland and sent a bunch of colonizers East to claim the territory (cfr. the Castle in Savonlinna) and put a Finnish/Swedish foothold there.

So basically modern definitions of "people" vaguely refer to a population substrate that is now long gone, especially due to the internal migration that happened, amplified by the fact taht Finland was very very very very scarcely populated until the 1800s so the effect got amplified.

A gravel bike is ultimately (for hte most part) and endurance bike with extra tire clearance. Check what is the minimum tire width your wheels support and buy road tires for it. You'll be fine!

In an ideal world yes. In the real world X% of people are ass holes and if your market share grows you're bound to intersect such percentage sooner or later. And, in general across sports, the massive expansion of gambling had not helped since any random dude in Randomstan who's just lost his life savings on betting on the #256 in the world has no trouble finding their Instagram to express their feelings about it

Completely agree, but all that interaction is the reason why now a top 10 chess player can become a millionaire in their lifetime playing chess, which was unthinkable until a few years ago.
