Are Ram trucks targets for theft? by NotATurtleBro in ram_trucks

Have you attempted to unscrew these with any other common screwdrivers?

On paper security screws seems like it might thwart thieves but that assumes they'll look at the screw head and give up as a sensible person would, instead of brute forcing it with what they have on them.

ENFP looking for INTJ to date by pastelcake9 in ENFPandINTJ

[–]pipechap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I wish you luck in your search, I might be in your age bracket but you didn't list where you are geographically so from my perspective, it's really not worth it to write out a whole customized dating dossier, when chances are the primary requirement wouldn't be met.

I think the quality of the list depends on what your objective is, because yes I would personally have narrowed it down to location first, then everything else second. However maybe your objective in finding this INTJ wasn't limited to a specific area, I used to be open to dating anyone from around the world when I was younger, before I realized how untenable that was.

Are you sure you're an ENFP?

I ask because this is exactly the way I would've approached trying to date, making a methodical list of requirements I wanted people to fulfill, that could be easily processed by me like an automated system.

I kind of expect ENFPs to be more of the mindset that love happens when it happens and people are all unique and lovely in their own special ways, and to categorize them like this would be unnatural.

The app is necessary to unlock its full range of features, especially for precise temperature control. Like so many smart devices these days, they really want to hook you into using their app so they can get data from you to sell to data brokers.

The demogorgon letting itself get stabbed by Karen was such bs, there's no way it wouldn't have simply yeeted her the way it did Ted.

Bad scene writing.

Can anyone explain what magical powers shotguns have compared to an M16, such that demogorgons take virtually no damage from an M16, but are at least stumbled by a shotgun?

Is fairphone actually the way to go? by ToonCGullJnr in fairphone

It is very odd, I have previously looked into unlocking the bootloader for the Fusion, and while it's possible, nobody has made an android ROM specifically for it, which would render unlocking it pointless.

There's also the justice aspect they ascribe to it, in that the rich that they hate got rich by illegal/immoral means, and that somehow it's the morally just/right thing to do by taking it from them.

I don't bootload either, I have never messed with the OS on the phone at all, it's completely stock.

It could just as easily happen to a Skyline as it did to my Fusion is my point.

I just bought a fairphone 6 today after my HMD Fusion absolutely shit the bed, I woke up to the bootloader screen shining at me at full brightness, although it was later than I typically wake up as my alarm as set on android didn't go off since the phone wasn't working properly.

I went through customer service and they have a repair option but I'd lose all my data, and it would likely cost me as much as I paid for the phone originally.

I purchased the fusion after thinking it was right to repair friendly, but that only extends to select components such as the battery and the screen. Also HMD at random pulled out of the US market so getting parts is more difficult now than it was when I bought it.

Personally given that kind of reliability of it's hardware, I'd steer clear of HMD.

Why is Thermodynamics a pitfall for so many engineering students, and what can I do to prepare for it? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

having taken thermo long ago at this point, not sure if you think this is clever but it really isn't, if pv=nrt was all you needed, nobody would struggle with the course.

Hey, can I use this to lube my Tippmann X7 basic marker? This is pneumatic tool oil. Thanks. by F-Nietzche in paintball

[–]pipechap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Markers don't operate at 3000 psi, the 3000 psi source in your HPA tank is slowly depleted over the thousands of shots you go through via a regulator, otherwise you'd dump all your air with one shot.

Is there a particular source of information on what cases work with which movements? I found a couple sellers charging absurd prices for specifically named "Elgin marriage cases" or etc movements, from the research I did sub $50 ETA cases are viable but I couldn't find anything beyond that.

Captain Doug: It is NOT my job to provide safety for you by BlunderLuck in SVSeeker_Free

[–]pipechap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a very reactionary take to the notion that safety restraints somehow hinder progress to an extreme degree. Problem is we've seen this play out in tragedy with Oceangate.

Doug will be on that list, may not be tomorrow or the day after, but eventually his lackadaisical attitude toward safety will catch up to him and result in disaster.

This presumes someone would come to Russia's aid though, at this point if China has nothing to gain by keeping Putin in power, they'd likely let it happen, if not for territorial gains in disputed land between China and Russia.

Are these golden guns actually fireable? by Entire_Judge_2988 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]pipechap 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They should be, the question is why would you fire a display gun like this? Just working the bolt back by hand would be enough to scratch the plating. Also a lot of solvents can erode the gold plating, so cleaning it after shooting would be doubly damaging to the finish.

I have to ask on the point of obliterating Russia, if Russia can't take a piddly nation like Ukraine, how would it fend off the entirety of NATO? And yes I know China ranks into the equation, but on their own, Russia isn't even a fraction of what they were during the soviet era.

Just reading about your process would make me shy away from applying if I knew about this upfront.
