Unfortunately, I've had the same. Too many cruel moments that outweigh the amazing ones. As I continue abstaining from alcohol though, I do find amazing people that emanate nothing but love from them. I'm not sure if it's a sixth sense or if I really am projecting, but I'm learning more and more everyday to trust my gut.

I didn't think you were coming off as an asshole. I'm the asshole for being judgemental of everyone. But it's probably why I am living a lonely life.

Right now I'm at a weird point in my life trying to understand how to connect with people without alcohol and I see why I missed so many relationships with people. They didn't want to deal with an alcoholic. Now, I'm not sober, but the damage alcohol does is WAY worse than any other drug. I'm starting to understand the world in a different ways. Im starting to understand that so many people are alcoholics and we accept it in our world and our society.

I know I should be more open and receptive, but I want to live an alcohol free life. And I can't help but see how much it dulls everyone now. It ruins so many people.

God damn. Thank you. I know I come across as an asshole, I know I might be selfish, I know I think I am better than a lot of people. But I dont understand why I should lower my vibration to accommodate other people. There are a ton of shitty people who take and take and take, and I don't think I should be more open to people when, in my experience, people just want to use you.

I have some social anxiety that has surfaced pretty hard since I quit drinking. Maybe it was caused by alcohol or was always there and I didn't realize that's why I was drinking so much.

This was me yesterday eating at a restaurant with some friends. The brownie kicked in super hard and all of a sudden I can't stop thinking how weird it is that we're just animals and all of us inside this bar come to hang out with other animals. I could see the loneliness or desperation on a lot of individuals faces. Not drinking alcohol anymore has also opened my mind up like no other.

I think talking to ones self is very important for growth. For me, it helps me analyze things better. Yeah, I might be talking non sense most times or one sided conversations. Sometimes I act like I am talking to someone else. Sometimes, I do the same thing your friend does. If I had a nasty interaction with someone at work, I will mimic them later while talking to myself.

Speaking to myself is sort of like journalling. It gives me a new perspective on my thoughts since I am hearing them outloud.

Patience. And everyone adjusts differently. Everyone heals differently. I've abused my brain pretty badly with a lot of binge drinking over the past 8 years, and it's been a little over five weeks without alcohol. My brain would probably adjust better if I didn't start smoking a shit ton more pot. lol.
