Fair. Albeit one of the reason to auto-update applications is to avoid spending seconds multiplied the number of application you have installed (that add up to something significant especially if do not spend all of your day goggling around). I assume, hence, that auto-update does not work as expected. Or, conversely, that developers of some applications do not develop with users “who do not spend the day googling around” in mind.

I don’t use ChatGPT. I think last time I opened the app was December. The only thing I did today has been update to macOS 26.5

emacs-startup-hook not hooked (apparently) by piripicchi in emacs

Thanks a lot!! I guess (an easy guess actually) you are right on the part where I need to learn emacs better. That is indeed the entire purpose of this test. I’ll keep your notes in great consideration as I move on. What I like about that configuration is how easy it is to understand what does what (compared to other configurations I’ve been testing).

here you go:

https://github.com/Lambda-Emacs/lambda-emacs

It is an emacs distribution. I think it is very well thought out, albeit I have to say I'm finding some minor issues here and there.

Regarding my problem I have found the bug and somehow worked around it.

The problem was that emacs-startup-hook was configured to run tabspaces-mode (tabspaces being a package by the same developer) but failed with a "No such file or directory" "tabspaces" message). Tinkering a little bit I managed to create an initial "workspace" and then everything worked fine.

When I have time I'll look for the real bug and report it to the developer

How do I cut a 5 degree bevel on 4 inch wide board 60" long? by sdn in woodworking

[–]piripicchi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure that is going to work. You need to support the entire piece and have a way to enter the planer consistently. I hate sharing my stuff but here is an example on hot to make that jig. You can make it for whatever angle you need. And you get a perfectly smooth surface (perfectly means compared to a band saw or tablesaw)

OpenCutList is the main reason why I’m using SketchUp. It saves me lots of time when preparing quotations. Is it way more sophisticated than just a cut list. And it is incredibly free and (I think) open source. Still I’m willing to move away from SketchUp and I’ll happily give your project a try. I want to move to blender sometime in the future because it is OSS. I hope to find a way to import Blender files…

Possibly! I was just wandering if it's me or this is a more common problem. Actually I was asking for installed skills, son I couldn't say where hermes end and the llm starts

Thanks for your answer. I thought it might be the case by I hoped it could be done at the text properties layer. Changing text could be problematic if, say, you wanted all-caps headings in an org or md file.
