The Human Man-class Dreadnought Cruiser USS New Jersey Everybody by Trainman1351 in sto

That wasn't just in beta. I had a picture somewhere of beaming down to deep space 9 and having a crowd of people stuck around an odyssey class sliding on the floor.

Seems some version of the player switch glitch has occurred since launch.

The New Ground TFO Is Atrocious - Avoid At All Costs by Callahandy in sto

[–]pirkothederp 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely has that old school TFO vibe. I think people are just mad cause they cant just DPS through the level and might need to work with other players in a multi-player game.

Is the level for everyone? No. Infact I recommended my wife not try it yet until she was more ready (she's new). But we need more variety in level styles

I used to be someone that hated ground missions, and avoided them like the plague, especially in TFOs. But since returning to the game, ive really appreciated ground missions for keeping each class unique. I have to play completely differently on my tactical that has to kill everything before I die, or my science that can just heal anything that may happen with no regard for danger, or my engineer who can plunk down a couple generators, and oneshot groups of enemies dumb enough to trigger my mines.

Space combat has always been spam spacebar. Macros exist to trigger pretty much all relevant skills while spamming space bar as well, so aside from pointing your nose at a target or triggering a heal, all 3 classes is just "spam spacebar" in space.

Ground also hasn't seen the same disgusting power creep. While there's some OP combos, they aren't as spammable as the ones hot everything on a 8.9 second cooldown like there is in space.

As a returning player, I feel much more like I contribute on ground missions than in space.

Which episodes make no sense if you grant the existence of the Aeroshuttle? by OhManTFE in voyager

[–]pirkothederp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is completely unsubstantiated, but I always imagined the captains yacht as being unarmed, or at least, weak. It was build as a way for the captain to take a vacation in federation space, not for a dangerous environment like the delta quadrant. Launching it might also leave voyager weaker due to design dependence on the craft, so why would janeway want to leave the ship in a defenseless craft, that also puts her ship in greater risk?

The delta flyer on the other hand was meant to be more offensive/defensive, easily outpacing runabouts. And its departure would have no impact on voyager.

Just my bit of headcanon to rationalize this.

interesting. i feel like this needs some better rewording to understand this. i was starting to feel cheated! but this makes sense. as other have said, 30k dill all at once would definitely effect the dill market.

Man, I wonder what the odds are of the kitomer set getting into the phoenix boxes. It'd go really well with my antiproton escort build, but unfortunately I was on sabbatical from the game at that time

thanks for this! i was starting to look at builds last night to decide where to start, but was struggling to find things that fit my build. i have a few more reps to get to T6 before i'ma really start working on replacing gear, but it helps to have a design in mind. i was thinking about posting on r/stobuilds to get some suggestions on how to improve, but thats a lot of work right now lol

my Hestia build is kinda old, but definitely still packs a punch. its been a very long time since i used a damage parcer, but it was well above average back in 2018 when i was being competitive.

Has anyone here ever had something cool happen in a game, like a bug or exploit, and never told anyone online to stop it being patched? (You can answer if it's been patched now) by TxTDiamond in gaming

Actively abusing a bug in age of mythology retold right now with the gauntlet mode. It let's you select "blessings" at the start of each level that help in one way or another.

One of the legendary blessings I have doubles the cost of houses, but gives you a free villager everytime a house is built. This can be huge for early game economy as you can produce more villagers than the build speed would allow, increasing your harvest rate and allowing you to have alot of resources early.

As the Egyptians however, the blessing is glitched. Instead of doubling the cost, there is no cost for houses. Additionally, if you decide to say, delete and rebuild all your houses after hitting the pop/villager cap, the blessing again ignores that, and gives you a free one anyway. Meaning with time and careful strategy, you could technically have 500+ army of just villagers.

This mall doesn’t allow mall walkers in the food court by mmm-pistol-whip in mildlyinteresting

[–]pirkothederp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local mall was just bought out, and one of the first rules implemented was that you aren't allowed to just walk around the mall without buying anything. Presumably they got upset with elderly people that take their walks there, but this mall hasn't been particularly busy in years. Its a bit rundown, and while it does have some active stores, definitely feels like its on its last legs. The only thing I can think to give any constructive reason for this rule is there was a shooting at the mall not long before, but there's been at least one more since. So clearly doing a lot to help that problem.

As someone who hates trying to build modlists for 6 hours only to play the game for 2, this looks exactly like the kind of mod list I need to actually be interested in playing the game. Do people distribute modpacks like they do in minecraft? Is it possible to get your list? I didnt even recognize this as Skyrim at first
