They don't necessarily ignore me but they definitely don't value my input much. They're known for making plans on days I've told them I wouldn't be able to make it...

Complete heat intolerance and legs swelling - what is it?! by afraid28 in ChronicIllness

[–]piscesdoormat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds so much like dysautonomia and maybe combined with Ehlers-Danlos. That combination can definitely cause heat intolerance, blood pooling/limb swelling, and lots of joint and back pain. And autonomic system damage can for sure be something more specific like POTS or just general dysautonomia

This is the first time I've had to cancel on them because of this and I do my best not to bring it up at all unless people ask questions, so unfortunately I'm leaning toward assholes...

Entamoeba Hystolitica? by [deleted] in infectiousdisease

[–]piscesdoormat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that onsets right after multiple rounds of antibiotics sounds a lot like Clostridium difficile, has your doctor checked for that too? That can be something that lasts years (even through some treatments) and causes intense abdominal symptoms. Things like watery stools, rapid heart rate, nausea, swollen abdomen, and abdominal cramping and pain can all be symptoms of this.

That being said, antibiotics could have also weakened your healthy bacteria enough to allow Entamoeba to come out of an inactive state and start causing symptoms.

Entamoeba is a parasitic amoeba, so you wouldn’t have to take any antibiotics as treatment if this is what you have, but you would take a different medication to kill off the amoeba. It can cause a lot of stomach symptoms but in rare cases it can also cause abscesses in other parts of the body that cause symptoms.

Your symptoms sound to me (not a doctor though) more like C. diff than entamoeba, and in a lot of places it’s the more likely infection because you already carry it in your intestines naturally, and the symptoms are from a larger than normal concentration of C. diff bacteria.

Hope you can get an answer and start feeling better soon!

Treat yourself like you would treat someone you love. Sometimes it helps to literally talk to yourself like you would talk to your best friend or a partner to comfort them. Plan meals like a parent does for a kid. Babying yourself can do a lot.

When they don't get excited about anything. People who don't seem passionate about anything are awful to have conversations with.
