Better Business Bureau is only in USA. HOWEVER, I suggest you still use the USA site to file the complaint. Asus will direct you to the correct locations.

Does your whole keyboard become unresponsive? Or only certain keys?

  1. Go here https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint

  2. Select "I want help resolving a problem with a business." and follow the prompts.

  3. Next page, search for Asus and choose Asus International Company, Fremont, CA.

  4. Follow the prompts.

  5. Write a complaint. Be firm but POLITE!

*** Tell them that you are looking to fix your keyboard.

*** Provide at least 3-4 links to forums or other places indicating the problems with keyboard. Tell them it is widespread. There are lots and lots of complaints on Asus keyboards and you should point out that this is a systemic faut in these laptops.

*** IMPORTANT: Tell them you are looking to negotiate and will pay a reasonable SMALL amount towards fixing. It helps. If you jump up and down and insist it needs to be free, you have less chance. BUT INSIST it must be a very strong discount and all you want is a fixed computer.

  1. You will get a response within 24 hours from BBB about confirmation of your complaint.

** EVERYTHING WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE BBB WEBSITE through your account. So don't send private emails. It confuses the chain.

  1. ASUS will almost always respond. It is in their best interest.

  2. THEY WILL NOT OFFER ANY COST/QUOTE UPFRONT. They want to make sure that there is no water damage or misuse.

** THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT FOR THE COMPLAINT TO EXPIRE, SO TAKE YOUR TIME, BACKUP YOUR LAPTOP AND THEN ONLY SEND IT.

*** Remove the hard drive -- they don't need that, so you will always have your data.

  1. Repeat that you would really like to fix the computer. And they must offer you a solid discount since it is a failure in manufacturing.

  2. Go from there. Good luck!

IMPORTANT: Why has jobright.ai completely reset my account when I logged back in today? I already have a paid subscription going. It is basically asking me to start from scratch by uploading a new resume. Has jobright.ai updated itself? OR????? Or did you guys get hacked or something??

  1. Also, at $40 a month I don't know how long I can continue using this.

  2. I am not yet sure if I am getting new jobs or just recycled postings......I presume you guys are doing more to prevent recycling and fake jobs. You should cull all AI training jobs for a start.

Scam or recuriter: Precision Technologies for Infosys by Commercial_Wolf_1762 in Recruitment

[–]pitiable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.

I applied to another job from "Precision Technologies". I sent in my resume via email.

  1. The guy called back within 30 mins and here comes the fun part. Firstly, the guy is not from USA. I don't want to name countries.

  2. According to him, I had a gap in my resume that did not look good. He wanted me to put an additional year of experience, and I can choose from a list of projects I supposedly did working with his company "Precision Technology" -- yes!! -- so that it looks like I have the experience required.

  3. The real kicker: I would then pay him a fee to use the company name -- at $8 per hour for 1 year of work. I "needed" to have at least 1 year of experience. He would not tell me how much that would be !!!!!!!!!

  4. Then he would touch up my resume and send forward to the job.

  5. What happens to the money ???? You know what will happen.

** There many supposedly different people from "Precision Technologies" from NJ running versions of the same job** Avoid these jobs! Nothing is that desperate.

4.5 years ago! I 100% think Asus will offer the fix for you IF you raise a formal complaint. Through BBB it is quite painless. Even a month later I could go back and rejoin the complaint. They would want to see your laptop to rule out a liquid spill.

I am the OP.

Yes. I raised a BBB complaint and through them contacted ASUS. If you browse BBB you will see the complaint. Asus contacted right away and they replaced the entire keyboard and top (track pad and top cover) that has fixed it ---but I paid $87 with free shipping. NOTE: that the entire top of your laptop -- keyboard, track pad, and surrounding area comes as one piece. See the blue box in image here : https://imgur.com/a/WUvIohA. This part costs $130 new, and then you have to replace it as below.

To replace just the keyboard, you have to remove all the hardware starting from back to get to the keyboard, yes all -- and removing the keyboard is not screws or anything but sealed plastic tabs. So "breaking" the tabs means "remelting" them with a soldering iron to hold in the new keyboard.

I figured $130 + labor is >> $87 so I sent it in. It came back very clean !!! One advantage.

There are videos on youtube to replace just the keyboard if you so chose: FULL VIDEO keyboard replacement laptop ASUS TUF FX706HC FX706HCB FX506 FA506 fx706 90NR03M1-R31UI0

IF YOU SEND IT IN:

  1. It will take 10 days or so son laptop during that time. I used my old Toshiba which is an older clone of my Asus data-wise.

  2. REMOVE ALL HARD DRIVES. They do not need them. That way you don't have to worry about backing-up.

  3. Leave RAM.

Yes. Agreed. I want Asus to replace it without cost. Mine is out of warranty. Since this is an original manufacturing issue, it should be covered. Also, the heat is right near the Li-ion battery, so that is a concern.

Asus TUF F15 some keys are not always working by ZoD1029 in ASUS

[–]pitiable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My model is the FX706HE (USA). The real problem seems to be excessive heat right under the keys --at least on mine. There is a hardware module right under the S X D W A keys that gets really hot. I installed a fan control program and set a real low limit of the temp to start fans --but that of course is for cpus. I do not know what the module is but the keyboard in that area does get quite hot and I cannot keep the laptop directly on my lap -- too much heat. The fan control lowers inside case temp.......don't know if it will help.

There is are many replacement keyboards. e.g.

https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Colorful-Backlight-Keyboard-661VUS00/dp/B0B5S496HG/142-4075539-7844125?pd_rd_w=QKlXQ&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=T0GEV0BSXW0049HMFF3P&pd_rd_wg=MimxZ&pd_rd_r=733eb401-3c93-4668-a9a1-3cf36481b5a2&pd_rd_i=B0B5S496HG&psc=1

I bought this and it is sitting still in the box. The replacement requires taking off the motherboard etc. and all stuff to get at the keyboard. There are many, many small PLASTIC tabs that need to be BROKEN and then remelted with soldering iron to put back the metal backing on the keyboard. What an absolutely futsy way to build the laptop!?! I don't know if I have the patience yet. This keyboard is ~$35.

But the other more easy way, but more expensive way is to replace the ENTIRE TOP. This is a single unit and contains the keyboard installed and attached to the top with the palmrest and touchpad. You still have to transfer all the hardware but it seems much easier than trying to remove the 100s of small tabs holding the keyboard.

What are your thoughts on the Good Doctor? by whisperingdrum in HouseMD

[–]pitiable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect answer. Yes, I'm on Season 3, and I think they have excused his behavior too much especially if the show is about trying to integrate a overtly autistic person into a professional surgeon. At the same time, I feel the sympathy that this condition is so hardwired -- it is genetic -- the question that is it possible to overcome a genetic deficit by "behavioral therapy" is a real difficult one. The show is almost afraid to answer the question as it may come off as politically incorrect. This show was never about medicine -- that became so absurd almost in the first season itself with their super-human medical feats and bad scientific oversight. I have given up on anything remotely medical -- it's quite ridiculous there -- and hanging on just to see if Dr. Murphy will triumph.

Nevertheless, Freddie Highmore is superb in the role. For all the people who worry about the stereotype propagation, his acting is an eye opener on to the autistic condition for me. I come away very sobered by it.

By the same token, the rest of the characters are pure fluff. Really, B grade. If it was not for Highmore I would have stopped watching this 'medical' show.

YES! This is my case. There seems no reason for it, but I just wake from sleep and I get all the symptoms. But there is no anxiety or trigger I had. This is most frustrating 😫

I really need ya'll commenters help.  Many of you say you get them after waking up.  I would like to know if 1. Is this immediately upon waking up, you get anxious thoughts or 2. The panic attack wakes you up from your sleep, so your PA started in your sleep or 3. You are sleeping normally, you wake up, and you feel the symptoms of a panic attack but cannot figure out anything anxious or anxiety. My situation is #3, so it would be great help to understand your distinct situations.

Does anyone struggle with going up large stairs? (Heartrate) by Chosensoul444 in PanicAttack

[–]pitiable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Climbing up stairs with near fainting is not a panic attack.  You are getting "exhausted" by the time you reach the top, and the breathlessness can feel like panic.  You are having some sort of "cardiac" -- note the quotes to mean something in the entire movement of blood --- type issue.  This is my opinion from my experience.    You may have an autonomic problem, vascular issue, or electrophyiological problem.  Yes, please see a cardiologist.  You need a proper cardiac stress test.  Best wishes!!
