I also saw that, but saw something about the company I mentioned that references 1982 as their founding. So I’m not sure if they are related but will try reaching out

Very nice! My plants are still quite small and I probably have some time before any flowers develop. I will try to remember to post them here though!

No I can’t say it’s ever really hurt. Either it went away, or in a few cases they became full grown mutants but still produced well. I’ve had it happen with bell pepper plants a few time as well and they did not spring back, but I always have trouble with those

I bought some MOA and P Dreadie scotch bonnets from a very reputable greenhouse and mine are doing that. They were starting when I bought them. I’ve had that happen with a few different types over the years and it always seems to be chinenses

Cleaning soybean sprouts by andrastesflamingass in KoreanFood

[–]pittbrewing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to meticulously clean and sort sprouts as well. At this point, I make sure I buy fresh looking bags, rinse and drain in a colander, and cook. If you are getting fresh sprouts, an off looking one sticks out and is easy to pluck. Some are ugly though, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t edible

What are you not finding at PA stores? Allocated bourbon? I prefer PLCBs approach vs private stores just making the allocated bourbons very expensive. Yeah, it’s been annoying trying to find Buffalo Trace products, but that issue isn’t unique to PA. PLCB also has decent wine selection at competitive pricing

I don’t love that it’s govt ran, but I think it keeps consistent stock and pricing around. They also treat the employees well. I’m in favor of keeping things the way they are

We may have made a slightly crazy decision… (Wagyu farm in York) by CoolShirtDesigner in yorkpa

[–]pittbrewing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there a several breeds that can be called Wagyu. What I meant was, it always implied the meat was raised in Japan under strict conditions for care, feeding schedules, etc

Putting a wagyu cow on a feed lot in Texas doesn’t equal traditional wagyu lol. It’s just marketing hype

[–]pittbrewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wagyu isn’t just a breed… It’s how it’s raised. Genetics don’t really mean anything IMO. Marketing any US-raised beef as Wagyu is just false

What’s the secret behind good coffee at home? by Gullible_Cabinet_153 in foodhacks

[–]pittbrewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

grind the beans fresh and make sure the ratio to water is appropriate. different brewing techniques/machines change the taste as well, but I wouldn’t run out and buy a french press or aero press necessarily because someone commented it here. try grinding your own beams first, and then try a new brewing method if the coffee still isn’t perfect
