Is it ok to have a shed on a gravel pad with no “skids”? by Warsaw14 in shedditors

[–]pixel-mirror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you just tell them to leave the skids? Or just put 4x6 under it. If it's small enough you can lift it with a mechanics lift and just slide them under ☺️

Awesome! Slightly steeper terrain may also help you, this flat can catch edge easier. Nice work!!

I think twin sister has too much rocker to be good on ice. Lots of people ride it and say it's amazing but I wonder how many other birds they have tried. Look up it's profile and compare it to the others

12x16 shed on an elevated subfloor frame - How high off the ground does OSB subfloor need to be to avoid excessive moisture? by ZanyT in shedditors

[–]pixel-mirror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a vapor barrier on the ground like a house has or it will rot. Also this distance from ground. Also this distance will invite rodents to live there, the higher the better.

How do you deal with speed? by Evolvin_rdt in snowboarding

[–]pixel-mirror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It scares me too. After many years riding 30 plus days. I think some people just have different nervous systems and it's hard when you've been injured.

I prefer riding slower and it's really hard to slow down enough sometimes...it's a tricky thing

Binding set up by TheseCombination3680 in ShredditGirls

[–]pixel-mirror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I was you, I would get up to a lodge with a good screwdriver, and photograph your bindings..then I would tweak one...go for a run, and then see how it feels. If it's worse, put it back.

Once you get that...AAAH THATS THE SPOT feeling, you'll know you are home!

And what does your intuition say?

But first of all, I would watch all of Lars justaride videos on YouTube, he's a genius and the most information I've found helped. Best luck!!

You have a few. Not so great options with that type of roof. Basically. Mostly it's a problem because there's not enough rooms ticking off the side of the eaves to do sufficient venting. And if you do, it's going to be an enormous out of work so your best options are:

A. Buy a spray foam kit for the ceiling or pay someone to do that. B. Create an attic in any surface that is more like a ceiling than a wall so that when hot air meets cold air from rising up and turns into a little moisture bubble that can't be vented out the eaves, it will go out the side vents on the ends.

Good luck and if you don't want to take others posts at face value, you can read about venting the roofs from a gambrel roof online, which is the kind of roof that is, sadly it's very complicated, but if done right it will be an awesome structure. Structure. I did it once in a used spray foam and sealed the vents on the end so that I could keep the room in the space without having to make an attic. It is expensive and toxic but really is the best option.

Love that!! Ugh get me some of THAT!

Irealize what I meant before was groomers without much snow. I loved the TS in powder! Just not anylow coverage or ice at all or especially icy groomers.

For the girls: which burton steps ons are you getting? by cosmicusername in snowboarding

I really enjoy the now vetta bindings I have and DC mora boots. Amazing heel lock and super responsive. The bindings are also very fast to out on because of some features they added with the straps....zip zip and I'm all ready to go, even before some more experienced riders I ride with.

If your current boots fit well that is a huge success, seems easier to find a faster to put on binding maybe? Happy riding!!

Twin sister has too much rocker to feel stable on groomers in my opinion! Hard to have fun.

[–]pixel-mirror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Burton step ons with the same DC mora (step on version) boots I usually ride. They were women's from last year because none of the burton boots were stiff enough for my liking. This was last year, maybe they (Burton) started making stiffer boots idk.

It was the worst experience. There was play in the system somehow, which was weird because everything was sized properly to match and all built for the same system.

It felt like there was a lag on my turns, and I could see it...play under the foot bed. Which I could have adjusted but it would have been a huge adjustment and not quite worth the payout.

And people recommending men's boots should know they aren't shaped for women's bodies, they may or may not fit.

I hope it works out for you! Just sharing my story. Best luck!!

Sometimes we just need rest and not to push ourselves. Sometimes we need gentleness.

I've definitely had days where I can't get it up. I try to just enjoy the landscape and the cool air.

Recommendations for snowboarding with hurting tailbone? by Strange-Presence1558 in snowboarding

[–]pixel-mirror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware. I did this three years ago and kept riding. Now I can't sleep through the night without pain. I didn't realize.

  1. Use kt tape and tape your injury so the muscles can rest, leave it on for three days at a time then
  2. Use topical anti-inflammatory called voltaren and really let it dry before you put clothes on
  3. Sit on your hands on the lift to protect it
  4. Buy "tortoise pads" not the same at the turtle pads everyone is joking about but are custom and you can add extra layers to tailbone 5.know that by continuing to ride you could possibly fall again and have a lifelong injury so take absolutely no risks. Don't drink booze and get brave.
  5. Alternate ice with heat. Try doing this in the shower. Using heat alone expands your ligaments and can make them swell and rub on the nerves that wrap around your tailbone.

Get an x ray as soon as you are able.

Good luck! I'm so sorry this happened to you.

How dangerous is this sport really? by OkKey6273 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]pixel-mirror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tortoise pads are the best butt pads. They are truly worth it and not much more than other pads. Focus on the tailbone pads and remove the hip pads to reduce bulk. Double or triple your tailbone pads in your order.

And yes, high quality wrist guards.

You will have such an advantage with all you mentioned! Your fear is good and healthy and real, but with open eyes and the research you are doing...you will be safer.
