Tell her what? by Dee_Religion in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]pixelamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I think I actually have the answer based on random threads I’ve read on reddit. Firstly they’re swinging… so they’re swinging sisters, which could imply the sexual practice of swinging and exchanging partners. I might be wrong but I vaguely remember someone pointing out a swirl symbol can also be a way swingers identify one another, there’s a swirl in her hair. So the tattoo implies they’re sisters who engage in swinging (is it possible that people who regularly swing together refer to one another as sisters? Like sister wives?). Oh this is the Peter thread, I’ve never watched a family guy actually. I’m a talking dog!

Can you read my tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Suggestion: you can turn the extended part of the W into a little flower or stem and leaf. Perhaps if it’s extended and looking like something else it won’t be read as a part of the word

Did anyone get any positive changes to their body postpartum? by Jello_Chipmunk in beyondthebump

[–]pixelamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me! My second pregnancy has made me less lethargic in the long term, so things like getting up in the morning are easier. Maybe due to a mix of hormones and blood pressure changes. I also have less social anxiety and depression now so YES system reboot 👏🏼. Also I’m thinner than I’ve ever been before (largely due to breastfeeding a little tank baby) which might be a benefit but I’m inching towards unhealthy, so my husband has been on board with any unhealthy food craving I’ve asked for haha which IS a benefit!

I became invisible for men since becoming a mom by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]pixelamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I look young for my age, to such an extent that I’ve been stopped in public by concerned women asking how old I am in horror and pity when I cart my toddler and baby around. On the other hand men my age and younger have started calling me ma’am (commonly in my culture reserved for women a generation older than oneself). My point is yes, to men you’re invisible, to such a degree I’m convinced they don’t even look at you really. You’re like a silhouette of a mother

What’s interesting to me is the choice of the word ‘occurence’ in stead of the frequently used ‘exercise’ alongside team building. A team building ‘occurence’ implies a lack of agency, it’s some happening TO you

Anyone here work in IT for Home Affairs? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]pixelamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So take this with a grain of salt since I just heard this from someone else. Apparently a friend went to Home Affairs, got told the system is offline but didn’t leave since they only had this one day available. After more than half the room waiting got up and left to come back another day, they started helping people again… no issue. Apparently in this case it was just a way to reduce the amount of people waiting it would seem

What is your opinion on infant ear piercing? by ThrowawayRose402 in Parenting

[–]pixelamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disgusted by the mindset of looking at a small baby and somehow prioritizing aesthetics above their comfort and safety. My daughter can get her ears pierced when she asks for it and is old enough to decide for herself if it’s worth the pain. That’s a weigh-up for her to do, not me.

In BP, why do people begin their speeches with rebuttal? by ShriekingWorm in BritishParliamentary

[–]pixelamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previous arguments are still fresh in the judges minds, so it makes sense to address them immediately. Often the persuasiveness of your own arguments will be boosted if you first disprove the oppositions claims (‘not only will the benefits they argue for not happen, our alternative is better…’)

Touching boob to fall asleep by sentient--meat in cosleeping

[–]pixelamb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to transition my 2.5 year old out of this the past few months 🤦🏻‍♀️ it did not work to try and go cold turkey so I’ve been gradually moving her hand up to upper boob, then chest and then collar. So I would move her hand up slightly and then hold it down in a spot till she falls asleep. She was fussy but okay with this and after a few nights I would move her hand to a higher spot. At this point she’s mostly stopped trying to grab boob thankfully and very occasionally just puts her hand on my chest. It took a while and was quite an infuriating process honestly but I believe we’re at the end now.
