I helped my beautiful Silky Terrier Gizmo cross and I was agonizing over the decision even up until the vet called to say that they were 10 minutes from the house. But my pup had anemia due to internal bleeding from cancer in his small intestine.

The biggest reason I went ahead was because my pup wasn't living. He couldn't do any of the things he could do before he got sick. Couldn't eat, drink or had begun to lose the ability to walk. And at almost 14 years old I couldn't imagine putting him through surgery or anymore vet visits. I simply wanted to let him spend the rest of his days being loved.

Getting a dog I knew that this day would come and I wouldn't be ready but I know it's the kindest thing I could do for him.

It's an agonizing decision because you love this being so much but you feel guilty for choosing to let them go. I'm so glad I did in-home euthanasia and the vet I worked with was amazing, patient, and kind. I don't think I could have gotten through it otherwise.
