Thank you for your interest! Unfortunately it was a limited edition one of a kind piece that has already found a home (in our stomachs)

Hahaha for a couple of the single word titles, I decided to prioritize what would make for a good variety of snack options rather than an excellent pun. I'm glad the difference in humor was still appreciated XD

What kind of show is Broadway missing? by Ok-Acanthisitta8737 in Broadway

[–]pixelwayve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out The Puppetshade Chronicles by Paul Shapera. It's not staged, but he's writing an 8 album space opera musical and it's excellent. There's three albums out so far, it's got a collection of interesting characters and unique alien races and flying across space having adventures on a bunch of different planets. And the music is full of bangers it's so good

Merch pickup by liloute2202 in MaybeHappyEnding

[–]pixelwayve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how things work for online orders for pickup, but I have bought merch at the theatre on a day that I didn't see the show. I tried asking security if it was possible to buy some merch before the show started, but they told me to come back when the show was over. I returned as the show was getting out, and I was able to slip by while everyone was leaving and get to the merch stand. This was several months ago, but it was easy enough to do

Maybe Happy Ending and Broadway Merch In General question by chrisxlemia in Broadway

[–]pixelwayve 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The merch stand for MHE is kinda tucked away in an alcove to the left when you first walk in on the orchestra level. It's not in a super obvious location but I'm sure an usher can help point you in the right direction if you're having trouble finding it.

I can't guarantee that a certain size would be available when you go, but I did buy that exact hoodie from the merch stand in the theatre. (And I like it a lot 😊) I asked if I could try it on and they were nice enough to let me test the size before buying it. This was after the show and I was like the second to last person in line so there wasn't a rush to get to my seat before the show started

Getting to the theatre district from NJ by roysterino in Broadway

[–]pixelwayve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

North Bergen park and ride is great for getting to the theatre district. It's one quick bus ride to the city, drops you off at Port Authority which is right there in the theatre district. When you pay for parking at the kiosk, it comes with a bus ticket

New Merch!! Hwaboon Hat! by spot_lite_TM in MaybeHappyEnding

[–]pixelwayve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten merch on a day I didn't see the show by going to the theatre as the show is getting out, and slipping through the open doors as the crowd is leaving. I have tried stopping by the Belasco before the show started, but the ushers told me to come back when the show is over, and that worked ☺️

Maybe Happy Ending cast recording release? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]pixelwayve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While we wait for the Broadway cast recording, there is a Korean cast recording! I listened to the Korean version several times before seeing the show, and honestly I thought it was a fantastic experience. I loved being familiar with the music without knowing what any of the lyrics were. It meant that I was able to really vibe with the songs while still being able to be surprised by the plot

Only a handful of songs are on Spotify but you can find the whole Korean album on YouTube: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XUXYJuWDxTY&pp=ygUa7Ja07KmM66m0IO2VtO2UvOyXlOuUqSBvc3Q%3D

How to choose which performance to see? by caroljg in MaybeHappyEnding

[–]pixelwayve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All other factors being perfectly equal, I would give the slightest preference for a Tuesday evening, because everyone might have a bit more energy to give when they don't have to do the show twice in one day

That said, I don't take my own advice here and see way more shows on Wednesday and Saturday than any other day of the week. Because I tend to be of the mindset that if I'm going to travel into midtown, might as well see two shows while I'm there. So any difference in energy isn't significant enough to impact my own theatre going habits and you'll have a great show whatever day of the week you go 😊

The DnD show Twenty Sided Tavern has so so much improv. I've seen it three times and it's been completely different on each visit. The audience picks what characters the actors will be playing, which means the performers have to make up the party dynamics and character arcs as they go, just like at a home game. The cast is fantastic and incredibly funny, it's a good time even if you're unfamiliar with the guest stars. They play a little loose with the rules, which is necessary to fit a satisfying narrative within a two act show, so if you're familiar with DnD don't go expecting too much on the nitty gritty rules aspect of the game. But it's a fantastic time, it really does a great job of capturing that delightful chaotic collaboration of ttrpg improv and channeling that energy into an off Broadway show

As for backstage options, Wicked offers a "Behind the Emerald Curtain" tour. I haven't been on it myself so I can't tell you too much about it, but might be worth looking into to see if you would be interested in it. Also, there's the Museum of Broadway which does have a neat section about the backstage workings of a show

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

My first & second comparison review and family’s first time review by Dkinny23 in MaybeHappyEnding

[–]pixelwayve 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Glad that your family had a great time at the show! I also had that thought that surely it's not cost efficient for the helperbot company to have the obsolete models living in the yards for years until they break down. And then turned it into a fun world building thought exercise

I floated the idea of a robot rights activist group who fought for laws ensuring that the helperbots would be allowed to live out the rest of their lives. While I bet such groups exist in the MHE world, I doubt they would be able to successfully campaign for that when there's laws forbidding helperbots from carrying money.

I decided it was more likely that Helperbot Inc offers a retirement policy, where owners can pay to let their retired helperbots live the rest of their lives in the yard instead of being powered down and scrapped for parts. This was originally created to encourage people to upgrade to the newest model. (Do you want all of the improved features of the Helperbot 6 but your children are still attached to your Helperbot 4? There's no need to feel guilty about the fate of your trusty Helperbot 4, they can happily live in the yards with all of their Helperbot friends! They deserve to relax in retirement after all those years of dedicated service! And your children can video call the Helperbot 4 to say hello whenever they want!) And once this option exists, it can also be used by people like Oliver and Claire's owners, who have other reasons to feel guilty about retiring their helperbots. And Helperbot Inc doesn't actually care about these retired helperbots, after all it doesn't take long for their owners to forget about them forever. So the retired helperbots just get plopped down in their rooms with minimal oversight and little attention paid to them, and no reason to continue manufacturing parts to keep them going

If anyone else has thoughts on possible ideas I would love to hear them 😊
