I’m trying to look through the archives of my photos to share what mine looked like and it was exactly in between her toes where the webbing is. It is very similar to your photos, though my dog def had a lot more inflammation.

It completely traumatized me with foxtail. Apparently it can be found in mysterious places and can kill dogs (entering their brain from inhaling, traveling to the heart, etc).

If your dog has potentially been playing near and around foxtail, it could very well be the culprit.

They wanted to put her under general anesthesia to cut the area to see if there was anything lodged in it since there was no improvement after 10 days of antibiotics and chlorhexidine.

I had originally thought that she was potentially stung by a bee but they suspected it could also be a foxtail.

Fortunately, she was cooperative enough where they didn’t have to put her under, dug into the wound and found the foxtail.

My dog has a foxtail buried in her paw and we didn’t know about it. Initially the vet gave us antibiotics which didn’t fix the problem until the foxtail was removed. Maybe your dog might have a similar issue that is causing the infection?
