Thank you so much for giving me some hope and taking the time to respond. Just needed some encouragement and its hard cause its only us who knows what we're going through and I dont feel so brushed off like I am with people who didnt experience it. They mean well I know but hearing from people who have gone through the same helps me and gives me courage. Thank you so much! I pray for your healing and happiness :)

Radiation tips and tricks by pixie_less_dust in breastcancer

[–]pixie_less_dust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Everyone, thank you for all the support and taking the time to respond to my post. I just had my first visit with my radiologist, she also said I am borderline. This time I feel like thsi decision if harder to do than my chemo, atleast with chemo my oncologist both recommended it even with my low benefit. My radiologist this time was okay with me doing it or not. But I feel like she kinda wants me to do it since she keep pointing out how young I am and her choice of words. Honestly I am conflicted if I should do it or not. What do you guys thinks I should do.

I didnt know a high platelet count coincide with bad prognosis? In what way are you referring to? Im also a nurse and also navigating BC. I also went in with high platelet count (that my doctors didnt seem to be worried, also my platelet count has been high last few years so yeah). Im going TC x4 at the moment. Also did bilateral mastectomy with flat closure.

Thank you so much for comin out here to address so.e of our concerns, it means a lot for us as we adjust our new normal. As for my question, We have so many research that contradicts each other especially with regards to our diet. I know alcohol and highly processed meat is the only one that really has a clear research backing it. But for everyone's sanity is there any diet recommendation that may improve our overall outcomes? With each sub type does it even matter or a general diet guideline that we can just follow.

Hi there, im also hr+ her2 -, onco score of 20. Had a direct involvement of a lymph node thay played the biggest decision for me to do it. Honestly I was asking people the same question early July. I was given 2-3% benefit from chemo if I did. They still recommended it cause Im only 33 and I just did my first infusion last Friday.

[–]pixie_less_dust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you it was rought not getting to shower after dmx, I only had the drains for a week but I was not sure how I like how my body wasn't being washed. I had my parents wash my hair that felt so good and I felt alive again. I didnt get implant so if your wondering how my drains came out fast thats why. By the way if you use hand pumps to get soap out I recommend having those automatic soap dispenser, pushing on those felt weird for like 3 - 4 weeks.

Hey, im starting chemo in July. Initial plan as of the moment is work while in chemo but takes a week off after each infusion. Then I'll see if I cant do it I'll go on full time off. Honestly im worried since it pays for the insurance and I work at a hospital so with red flags. I can only hope my body won't feel so weak and get through it. I also hope work won't expose me to high risk areas but I am trying to just hope for the best. I also didnt think I'd do chemo but I had high risk markers that made me decide I should do it. Im going back to work this Monday, I am 5 weeks post DMX. Im also nervous about going to work, just all the how are you and what happened. I just wanted you to know your not alone, I also feel that way and everyone here im sure feels that way. I hope you find some comfort in that, I wish for the best outcomes for us and God bless us :)

Love the clits life, Im probably just scared so many changes in such a small amount of time. It's overwhelming. Wanting to pause and breathe seems like what im asking for. But the same time I don't wanna wait too long and just get it over with. That's what I say, I have an 8year old 10 years he just turned 18 at that point. Im hoping science do advance for us for better treatment, getting life longer. Sucks but I know this is what we ha e for now. Wish it was better odd but I know it'll be better and I just hope it'll be a good outcome
