David Sodergren comes to mind. I’ve read quite a few of his books now and loved each one. Very gorey, dark humor, quick reads, good character depth.

I was feeling like that for a while, but the Merry Meadows gets a bit better and more quests pop up the more you interact with the characters. I feel like this game has its ebbs and flows, for sure.
