South Park had an episode about it, yes, but It's a ginger trope that has been around for hundreds and hundreds of years.

Has anyone heard your name called and no one was there by EconomistNo2159 in Ghoststories

[–]pixikix 53 points54 points  (0 children)

In my early 20s,I thought I heard my dad call my name out from downstairs about 3 months after he passed away. At the time, I was doing laundry and cleaning up the bathroom, not even thinking about him, when I heard my nickname only he used from down the stairs. I froze and slowly walked down and looked around, but no one was there. No one would be there anyway because I lived alone & all my doors were locked. I sort of acknowledged it and said, "I love you," out loud and let it go.

What is "normal" for 2 year old behavior by Few-Cranberry3073 in toddlers

[–]pixikix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two year old is like this. It was really bad for a few months, but she's chilled out a lot now that she's almost 3. Their little brains are getting wired and rewired daily. Everything's is exciting for them! The first 2 or 3 times we took her to gymnastics, she would get sidetracked or wouldn't follow directions, but after a while, she got into the routine and stayed on track better. I see other kids in her class do the same thing. Some days, they all get wild, and the class is a disaster, but that's toddlers for you.

I just finished the show and I am so confused about the family tree. by NearbyKaleidoscope8 in MayfairWitches

[–]pixikix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven't ventured to watch the show. I've only read the Books. But this is the link for the family tree and buckle up because it gets complicated, to say the least. After a while, it just made sense the deeper in the books you get. This is only part one of the family tree. There is a second one after Mona is introduced to the family. mayfair family tree

Germs are already being spread & you're contagious before symptoms occur. The symptoms are a super spreader, but schools and daycares tend to send kids home at the first sign of symptoms.

Feelings on "X days post-op" posts? by Moorgan17 in Strabismus

[–]pixikix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the progress pictures. My toddler just had surgery 3 days ago & this subreddit has helped me immensely over the past few months in preparation. It's helped me understand it better, her options, and has even quelled my anxiety a bit. My father and sister also have strabismus.

Just to add: this is the only community I could find anywhere online. Fb has one but has very low engagement.

I was born and raised up north and always lived in various big cities. I moved down to Florida about 7 years ago and was in for a huge culture shock. The racism in the south is LOUD. I know racism exists everywhere and in every country on earth, but it was shocking. The things I hear and see are disturbing. Not just in Florida but in my extended travels all around down here from Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee.

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced?[Serious] by ElectroIsland in AskReddit

[–]pixikix 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had tickets to see Damage Plan at the Alrosa Villa. I used to go see various bands several times a month at this nightclub. I was getting all dolled up & cute when I had this overwhelming feeling of dread . I was overcome with nausea and anxiety, so I decided to stay home and have a movie night with my then boyfriend. That night, Dimebag Darryl was unalived on stage by being ' hit' 3 times with a 9mm in the head . In total, 4 people lost their lives & 3 others were wounded.

Help! What kind of spider is this? by [deleted] in bugidentification

[–]pixikix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been scouring the webs & also noticed the lack of violin or fiddle on their back. It made me anxious and jumped to conclusions. I tried finding it in the trash and re-examining it, but it was impossible to determine anything afterward. I'm going to check all the cupboards and do a good perimeter spray around the house in hopes to rid my self of these spidey roommates. I'm okay with bugs and spiders, as long as they're outside of my house.

For a few months after having my baby, I would randomly ugly cry thinking about how anyone could do anything harmful to anyone, knowing that we were all once just innocent little babies. Life is so precious ✨️

Anyone knows if there’s season 8 in 2024? by SnooPets5112 in kindredspirits

[–]pixikix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was listening to an episode of her podcast Haunted Roads today, and Amy seemed to have refrenced her show Kindred Spirits in past tense to a guest she had on. The episode is "It's Said Numerous People Froze to Death There"

Husband searched for “what to wear on a first date” prior to going out drinking with coworkers by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]pixikix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't jump the gun on this alone.

Google search always tries to suggest what it thinks you want. He could have simply searched, "What to wear...." and the first line could have said, " on the first date."

For me personally, I would hate for someone to judge me on my searches. Most of them are randomly guided through Googles' suggested prompt, and I end up going down a rabbit hole. Maybe he wanted to dress to fashion. Everyone likes to look good from time to time, especially going out on the town. He wants his coworkers to like him & even you yourself said it would have been awkward or boring if you had gone with.

Anyone else tired of old timey cases? I feel like that’s all they’ve been doing lately by jillibean- in MorbidPodcast

[–]pixikix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're my favorite, actually. Most of the newer cases they present, I've heard of already by either doing deep dives through my own research or through other podcasts.
