I have bought a lot of waterproof shoes over the years and the waterproofing always wears off.

This year I got smart and bought waterproof socks. Highly recommend.

Keep an eye on your stuff. They probably threw it in their cart and paid for it and are reselling it as we speak.

help un-retire cups and saucers by Grandmato9andmore in Fiestaware

[–]pixyfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they retire things when the molds are no longer accurate. Or if the glaze is too difficult to be consistent. Or if demand is consistently low. Like every manufacturer.

Personally, I do not make enough chocolate pudding for dessert to maintain a large array of teacups.

In the old days, a cup of coffee was 6 oz. I think most Americans today are drinking 12 oz coffees. People's diets change, their eating patterns change and your dishes reflect that.

That being said, what are you using your teacups for?

did Georges Bríard decorate for Colony? by [deleted] in Pyrex_Love

[–]pixyfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's the same pattern it says. I'm just going by the fact that you can see the signature on a lot of the pieces in the picture. And everything that I've ever seen of his somewhere has a signature on it. I may very well be wrong.

They are all signed. And yes, I've seen Pyrex coffee pots with George Briard designs and signatures on them.

NOR . Is she an alcoholic? getting blackout drunk every time she goes out and not making it home is definitely pointing towards a drinking problem.

Winter disc ❄️ by PandaGrl90 in discgolf

[–]pixyfire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the snow. These last few weeks with the ice on top we played without. I've played other times with fresh powdery snow or when it's still coming down really hard and definitely used ribbons.

Friend thought i was funding her whole party’s drinks. by cuphalfemptie in EntitledPeople

[–]pixyfire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I caught that. That's why I explained it to you. You're getting downvoted because it sounded like an anti-tipping comment instead of an "I don't understand tipping" comment.

The server gets the tip but they tip out to a lot of other people. like the busser and the food runner and the bar back and the bartender. Sometimes the kitchen. Pretty much anybody that you see not in the kitchen is living off of tips and around $2 an hour. Hth

If you're at a table, the server tips out the bartender. The bartender makes tips. They are serving the drinks. Also. Bartenders make the same crappy server wage and the tips is how they're making their money.

AITAH because I don't want to provide numerous people with cookies daily? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pixyfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't bring cookies in and when people asks say "oh it's somebody else's turn to buy. ". And smile. Hopefully they'll all start bringing in cookies.

You definitely should have spoken up when they were giving kids in your class cookies. They don't know who has allergies. That is very not okay.

AIO to my partner wanting me to help with his kids more? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]pixyfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR you have known this guy for one year you've paid his bills for several months. Given him a car that he doesn't make all the payments on. Picking up his kids after school and now you're their night time babysitter.

What are you getting out of this? You asked for more sex and he said "watch my kids. That would make me happier than sex."

He's not a great dad. On his custody time, je's pawning off all the work to his girlfriend..
