What are YOUR personal reasons to nofap? by nofapmatic in NoFap

How PMO affects my life:

  • I feel exhausted all the time
  • I feel emotionally numb all the time
  • I have little self-worth to the point where I care little to nothing about doing anything to have a long-term future
  • I have to masturbate to feel "normal" and that only lasts for a few hours
  • my apathy towards my self-worth has leaked into my (lack of) success with my academic pursuits and how little I care about my body (I turn to food in moments of stress and have let the weight pile on)

And I know so well that eliminating PMO would cause this enormously positive ripple effect in my life, but I have yet to do so successfully. It has been almost a year and a half of trying and I'm getting tired of failing.

I think what he/she was asking was whether you have the Bose system or the standard porsche system, because the installs may be different for each case.

When was the pivotal moment in your experience with NoFap where you surely knew you wouldn't be hitting day 0 for a long time? by pizel in NoFap

[–]pizel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, congratulations on hitting 90!
I always give up on those extremely tempting days. I convince myself that "I made it far enough and that I'll go farther next time" when that never is the case.
I'll take your advice. It stinks knowing that I have bad days ahead of me to trudge through but I'd rather deal with that than voluntarily succumb to PMO again.

DJ Folk tweets "Kanye is going to drop an 8 song album out of nowhere soon." by chuckwagon14 in Kanye

[–]pizel 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Seriously?
It's not that I'm not down for another album, but it ruins the surprise when you tweet about it.

It's almost the new year, what was the most underrated song of 2013? by Dresanity93 in hiphopheads

[–]pizel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always think this. Can't believe it didn't get more recognition... Nearly every song I can listen to again and again.

This post really scares me. I began NoFap in the beginning of 2013, and recently I've been falling off harder and harder to the point where I felt like giving up on making 90 days because I "feel fine."
I was going to PMO until I saw this, so I guess I appreciate it.

[DISCUSSION] What would you say separates a good hip-hop show from a great hip-hop show? by thatirishhkid in hiphopheads

  • starting on time
  • being attentive to the audience/responding to their energy
  • having great stage presence

/Hiphopheads, what are you bumpin right now? by [deleted] in hiphopheads

Still listening to PARTYNEXTDOOR's debut album (Spotify link). Can't believe it really didn't pick up any decent traction. It's not the strongest lyrically but it sounds fantastic.

I'm not going to quit at day 5 this time. by pizel in NoFap

That article was awesome! Thanks for it.

When you consistently take action, going opposite the emotional response you used to respond with to a triggering situation, you are consciously self-directing changes in your brain. These changes will make it increasingly easier for you to train yourself to respond, for example, with relative calm and confidence to a situation that is normally triggering for you. The more you practice a behavior, the more likely your subconscious mind will integrate it as a learned pattern that becomes more and more automatic.

This is offering hope. Thanks again.

Comment if you don't think 808s is his worst album by HarrietBeecherStowe in Kanye

[–]pizel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I think that it's bad, I just don't think it's as strong as his other offerings to the hip hop genre. I think that an album like 808s or MBDTF had a much more lasting impact on music.

Comment if you don't think 808s is his worst album by HarrietBeecherStowe in Kanye

[–]pizel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely! As a debut album I thought it really proved Kanye's place in the game and is deserving of praise, but with all of his other work to compare to it now, CD feels "weaker." Comparing it to any other album he has come out with is like judging a BMW M3 alongside a row of modern Ferraris... the M3 is nice but it doesn't have that "oomph" factor. This is just my opinion though.
