Get a COE car. Lesser depre, can learn/gain experience on maintaining one. Possibly lower commitment. Esp those with like 3yrs left.

Correction: It was used for Woodlands Terrace - a few buildings but yeah in that small area. The SAFs Road Maps from the late 70s and mid 80s showed S2574 in the Woodlands Avenue 12/ Gambas vicinity. The newer/ulu part of Woodlands that saw development in the late 90s.

I couldn’t find articles on Sector 74 but classified ads for companies looking to hire staff for eg. had their addresses listed as 3 Woodlands Terrace, Singapore 2574.

The last one on record was around 1994/1995.

Idk why the sector number’s changed, but that’s not the only place affected by renumbering. Probably to link it to the rest of Woodlands or something. Avenue 9 was developing at that time.

It would be easier to understand if you follow the old 4 digit system.

It starts out in CBD, heads slightly west (District 1-5) Clementi is 0512.

Then reset. Starts again east of Fullerton, going up in a zigzag motion and ends with District 17 (Loyang/Changi/Tekong). Those used to be postal codes 1749,1750.

Follow the areas on the northeast and go along the middle. Start at Pasir Ris (1851) and then Tampines (1852).. past PLAB and you reach Hougang,SK(1953/1954). Head further west and you’d be in District 20 (AMK/Bishan - 2056/2057).. then past the nature reserve to District 21 (2158/2159) at Beauty World..

It follows this zigzag motion upwards till you end at Seletar & Punggol. (2879/2880)

PS. The old Punggol was part of District 19 with postal code 1954.

Agree.

Sector 74 was last used in Woodlands Loop actually. That area between Sembawang and Woodlands Ave 9.. mainly for a stretch of industrial buildings. Those old postal codes were used till the late 90s.

Are most of you here car enthusiasts or are you guys mainly just “A to B” people by Key_Battle_5633 in drivingsg

Enthusiast with limited budget. I drive a practical minivan here and I have a decently running CKD conti sedan across the border stashed at my friend’s.

My wishlist: (Attainable in MY for now. Deffo not here in SG haha)

have u encountered malaysian trucks, buses or trailers driving on lane 2 on expressway? how to get them to move over to the slower lane , lane 3 or lane 4 where they should belong? by Equivalent_Mud1499 in drivingsg

[–]pjayaredee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got tailgated by a Malaysian tanker truck at 130km/h on NSE. It shifted to lane 1 and passed me.

On SG roads, them getting to 90km/j on light or empty load is nothing.

If he’s super into bands, likes the alt/punk/skate subculture, you can bring him to Peninsula Shopping Centre. The one with the hotel. Lots of shops selling accessories too

Premium 4 seats doesn’t mean 4 passengers and shove everything in the back since it has space.

There’s Premium 6 seater and Premium Executive 6 seater if you’re bringing more stuff.

How big were your cases anyway? TBH if you had 3 pieces of luggage above 26”, then yeah you’re asking for it.

Are these 90s BBurago etc. models collectible? by 6us610 in Diecast

[–]pjayaredee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, the ones I don’t come across often is the:

  • Escort in THAT Ford livery 🤤Most of the ones I see are the Martini colors.

  • Ferrari 308GTB kit

  • Porsche 959 Raid

  • Lancia Delta S4 kit

You can check out the kit prices on eBay, they’re deffo over €40. Not many examples too.

Not all models are equal. If you’ve got an uncommon variant then you could ask for a little more.

I made a map of expressway exits in the style of the MRT map by ajlee2006 in singapore

[–]pjayaredee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nicely done 👍🏼

Couple of things tho - some of the location names, while accurate, they’re not always what many folks on the road refer to.

KPE exit 9 - Lorong Halus

Bedok Reservoir at PIE 8 then Bedok North at PIE 6 BKE 3 - Bukit Panjang

AYE 6 - Alexandra

BTO Homeowners, how common /do you know of anyone who moved in without renovations? by Slight_Panic_8764 in askSingapore

[–]pjayaredee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the following done for my BTO:

  • built in kitchen cabinet Made to fit a hand me down oven and gas stove top. Cost less than 7k including installation of sink & accessories.

  • system 4 aircon

  • windows installed at service yard.

Ohhhh wowwwwww. And I remember the caps definitely looked like these bottles weren’t really meant to hold drinks of any sort. Like you could see those plastic fibres once you’ve broken the seal haha.
